The lifecycle of a ladybug

It's funny how you take some things for granted and then at a later age keep learning something new.
I'm interested in the things I shoot and often look up information on the internet about it.
Just a couple of weeks ago I noticed there were a lot of in my backyard. I even spotted two of them mating.
To my surprise it weren't the same ladybirds, but as you can see a black one with two large red tots and an orange one with a lot of black dots.

Although the colours differ they are still the same species; the Asian Ladybug.
A couple of weeks later I went for a hike with my camera when I spotted the insect on the picture below.

Since I did not recognize the insect I used my Obsidentify app to look it up.

To my surprise it turned out to be a larva of an Asian Ladybug.
I never knew they would transform just like caterpillars into butterflies.

Then last week I spotted the insect above, this time again in my backyard. I immediately thought it was a Ladybug in the phase between a larva and a ladybug. You can see the beginning of the characteristic shield with the dots.

And then the circle is round!
