Green shield bug (Palomena prasina)

When I'm working from home I often make a small walk in my backyard with my camera to see if I can spot some nice insects.
This time I spotted one I had never seen before. It was a small green and black insect of just a couple of milimeters large. It looked a bit like a ladybug, but it clearly wasn't.

I used my Obsidentify app which identified it as a Green shield bug. I looked up some images on the internet and it is indeed a larvae of a green shield bug.

I inspected the bush some more and found one of the parents of this little fella.

They are quite hard to spot on the green foliage. And usually they aren't moving fast either.

I really like the contrast of the red eyes sticking out from under their green shield.
