Pertenece al grupo de los Quelicerados y de acuerdo con diversas hipótesis evolutivas, han sido uno de los primeros artrópodos en invadir la litosfera, y sobrevivir.
Spiders are truly amazing when we study their structure, which has arisen in response to selective environmental pressures. They belong to the Chelicerates group and according to several evolutionary hypotheses, they were one of the first arthropods to invade the lithosphere and survive.
Este espécimen fue traído a casa por unos vecinos que saben que amo fotogafiar artrópodos y plantas. En el momento de la entrega, el recipiente sólo tenía a la araña, viva. Al día siguiente, junto a ella se encontraba su muda.
This specimen was brought home by some neighbours who know that I love to photograph arthropods and plants. At the time of delivery, the container contained only the spider, alive. The next day, next to it was its moult.
La muda, es propia de un ejemplar en crecimiento. Esta araña se deshizo de la vieja estructura para seguir en su proceso de maduración hasta su adultez completa.
The moult is typical of a growing specimen. This spider got rid of the old structure to continue its maturation process until full adulthood.

A nivel general, se consiguen los elementos comunes de todo quelicerado. Pedipalpos, cuatro pares de ojos, patas caminadoras con su respectiva tibia, metatarso y tarso. Su prosoma y opistoma , todas estructuras con pelos, como estructura sensorial. El color de este espécimen, debido a sólo horas de su muda puede variar a medida que pasa el tiempo y se vaya endureciendo.
At a general level, we get the common elements of all chelicerates. Pedipalps, four pairs of eyes, walking legs with their respective tibia, metatarsus and tarsus. Its prosoma and opisthosoma, all structures with hairs, as sensory structure. The colour of this specimen, due to only hours of moulting, may vary as time passes and it hardens.

Esta Tegenaria, tiene como característica además la presencia de largas patas, si lo comparamos con su cuerpo. Sus ocho ojos se aprecian en dos filas, y su quelícero, tal como se aprecia en la muda es oscuro y fuerte. Como ya se indicó y se aprecia en las fotografías, son pubescentes y eso es responsable de su coloración. Como todas, elabora complejas telarañas que no fueron observadas en el momento de la colecta.
This Tegenaria is also characterised by the presence of long legs compared to its body. Its eight eyes are in two rows, and its chelicerae, as seen in the moult, are dark and strong. As already indicated and as can be seen in the photographs, they are pubescent and this is responsible for their colouring. Like all of them, they make complex spider webs, which were not observed at the time of collection.
