Kampong Glam is one of the neighborhoods in Singapore where locals and tourists cross paths with each other. It is located at the Bugis area and it's also at the center of the city. There are many offices and commercial establishments surrounding this area. There are also many beautiful Mosques in this area.
One thing that sets Kampong Glam apart from the other places in Singapore is the stunning wall murals, calligraphy, and the artistic designs of the shophouses. When you go to this place you will definitely have a different vibe. It's going to be a fun experience exploring this place especially during night time.
It was around 7:00 PM when I walked the narrow alleys of KG (Kampong Glam). It's only Tuesday and I'm already seeing people hanging out with work friends to unwind. I guess the stress of their job has already kicked in to them.
I also met tourists trying to navigate the streets of KG to find their hotel. It's definitely a fun way for them to get to their place for the night, right?
There are lots of good middle-eastern restaurants in this place and also restaurants that serve Malay food. Of course, western food is also a common theme on some of the restaurants here. With all of the nice places to eat... the real attraction of KG are the cool pubs, bars, and cafes. With their own unique design theme, the bars are not wasting any opportunity in getting customers into their bar.
I had a great time just exploring the streets of Kampong Glam.
