Hello Hive.
Finally I made something for me, not the regular cut and sew. This was a sew with smile.
The first time I made a smoked top it all went wrong, my calculations of the measurements and everything else.
I got this inspiration from a walk round the street where I saw smoked dresses sitting fitted on the body of a young girl.
I thought of some touches for mine as well but instead of smoking the whole top I made it to a half length cut.
This is really easy and can be cut sewn and completed in less than 2hours.
Design process.
To make this I multiplied all measurements by 2 because the smoking causes reduction in measurements along the vertical lines.
Chest circumference 12inches that's is 24/2 .
Waist is 14inches , 28/2.
I measured 12inches for chest and about 14inches for waist.
I created the armhole curve for the off shoulder bodice and cut this as seen.
This was cut in two places for both front and back.
I stitched these vertical lines I created with the Chalk using the elastic thread.
Next were the straight sleeves, cut and sewn with neat hemmings.
The sleeves were attached to the top and then it was time for the photoshoot section. 😂😂😂😂😂
Simple and easy right?.
I did try one before but it went wrong and I got a damaged fabric but this went better than I thought, that was why I smiled satisfied through the process..
Its a needlework Monday project but this will do for the days outing but I don't have any colorful matching skirt 😢😢😢, just realized I dont have any presentable one to match this top.
I have made too many tops without skirt or pants now, maybe I have to balance this up.
