Diy Smoked Sleeve for my new dress

Hello Hive

Today I want go show us a tutorial on how I made this smoked sleeve for my new dress. I have this dress designed from a lovely material for quite some time now but the material got exhausted after making the dress such that I didn't have any left to make this sleeve with so I abandoned it half way through.

Upon reaching the market I realize I can finish up my dress using a sleeve made of a different materials but with similar color as the flowers on my dress, I bought half a yard of the material since it will be for only sleeve and got to work.

I wanted a bogus sleeve so I made a pattern first and used it to cut my sleeve adding excess to it.

The next step I did was using the smoking thread to pull the excess into the box shape.
The thread was reeled into the bobbing while a normal thread was used at the top.

That was nicely done.

I left the Armhole part to about 5inches down untouched so I can pleat it into the Armhole to give me that bogus nature above.

With that my dress is finally completed after staying half done for almost a year.

What other unfinished projects do you have and can I see them?

Thank you 💖
