As a project for this Monday I want to share with you one of the many lingerie garments that I had cut out a thousand years ago but still needed to sew. It's a set with this beautiful black and red lace: in this first installment, I show you the making of the bodice ❤️.
¡Hola amigos de Needle Work! Espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy y que hayan tenido un maravilloso día 😃. Como proyecto para este lunes quiero compartir con ustedes uno de las tantas prendas de lencería que tenía recortado hace mil años pero que me faltaba coser. Se trata de un conjunto que voy a hacerme con esta hermosa puntilla negra y roja: en esta primera entrega, les muestro el armado del corpiño ❤️.
This lace is really beautiful: a long time ago I had decided to change the total-black projects and I bought this one, which is black but with a touch of red haha. I only bought 2 meters, which is enough for me for two sets: I gave my sister a set but at that time I had not been able to photograph it, so now I show you what I'm doing to me ❤️.
Esta puntilla es realmente preciosa: hace tiempo había decidido salir un poco del todo-negro y compré esta, que es negra pero con un toque de rojo jaja. Solo compré 2 metros, que me alcanzan para dos conjuntos: le hice un conjunto a mi hermana pero en ese momento no había podido fotografiarlo, así que ahora les muestro el que estoy haciendo para mí ❤️.
To assemble this bodice you need a total of 7 pieces: four for the cups, one for the bottom and two for the back. I like this bodice model because as it has more fabric, the details of the lace are better observed.
Para armar este corpiño se necesitan en total 7 piezas: cuatro para las tazas, una para la parte de abajo y dos para la espalda. Este modelo de corpiño me gusta porque al tener más tela se observan mejor los detalles de la puntilla.
The first thing we do is join the pieces of the cups with a zigzag stitch. Before, this step was done with a straight stitch, which took away the elasticity of this part and that was very wrong. Luckily, now I do it the right way: the zigzag stitch is elastic and allows the fabric to stretch well. To join the bottom part, we also use this type of stitch.
Lo primero que hacemos es unir las piezas de las copas con puntada zig-zag. Antes este paso lo hacía con puntada recta, lo que le quitaba elasticidad a esta parte y eso estaba muy mal. Por suerte, ahora ya lo hago del modo correcto: la puntada zig-zag es elástica y permite que la tela se estire bien. Para unir la parte de abajo, también usamos este tipo de puntada.
For the back pieces, we need to hide the cut edge of the fabric. For this we use a split elastic, which is one that is folded in half, like a bias ribbon. To sew it, I also use a small zigzag stitch. I used to get on badly with this elastic, but I think now I have mastered the technique a little better 😅.
Para las piezas de la espalda, necesitamos ocultar el borde cortado de la tela. Para esto utilizamos un elástico partido, que es aquel que se dobla a la mitad, como una cinta bies. Para coserlo, también usamos una pequeña puntada zig-zag. Antes me llevaba mal con este elástico, pero creo que ahora domino la técnica un poco mejor 😅.

Then, we must join the pieces of the back to those of the front. We also do this with zigzag stitch.
Después, debemos unir las piezas de la espalda a las del frente. Esto también lo hacemos con puntada zig-zag.

To add structure to our bodice we add elastics on the inside. This has two functions: since this bodice is all made of fabric it makes it fit better to the body and we also use it to cover the seams ❤️.
Para añadir estructura a nuestro corpiño agregamos elásticos en la parte interior. Esto tiene dos funciones: ya que este corpiño es todo de tela hace que se ajuste mejor al cuerpo y también lo utilizamos para tapar las costuras ❤️.

This bodice has a 2-position clasp at the back. This should be sewn carefully, as as it has a metal part, the needle can break (I say this knowingly because it has already happened to me).
To add the straps, we have to place two rings: one in the front and one in the back. There are those who only put one on the back, but since I have a lot of them I prefer to add two for each strap 😂.
Este corpiño lleva un broche de 2 posiciones en la parte de atrás. Esto debe coserse con cuidado, ya que como tiene una pieza metálica, se puede romper la aguja (lo digo con conocimiento de causa porque ya me ha sucedido).
Para agregar los breteles, tenemos que colocar dos argollas: una en el frente y otra en la espalda. Hay quienes ponen solo una en la parte de atrás, pero ya que tengo un montón de ellas prefiero agregar dos para cada bretel 😂.

The straps are armed with elastic and a metal slide that helps to lengthen and adjust to taste. While doing this I was thinking that a detailed explanation of how this is put together would be good. I have pending for a future post 😅.
Finally, we pass the straps through the rings of the bodice and sew with a straight stitch. This is the only part where we use this type of stitch ❤️.
Los breteles se arman con elástico y una corredera de metal que ayuda a que se pueda alargar y ajustar a gusto. Mientras hacía esto pensaba en que sería bueno una explicación detallada sobre como se arma esto. Me queda pendiente para algún post futuro 😅.
Por último, pasamos los breteles por las argollitas del corpiño y cosemos con puntada recta. Esta es la única parte en la que usamos este tipo de puntada ❤️.

I think this bodice is very beautiful and sexy, for those special occasions that you know ... hahahaha. BUT the sad thing is that I don't even have a boyfriend so it will be kept in a drawer for some time... in the meantime I'm satisfied that all of you, fellow needle workers see it 😂❤️. Pienso que este corpiño es muy hermoso y sexy, para esas ocasiones especiales que ya saben... jajajaja. PERO lo triste es que ni tengo novio así que se quedará guardada en un cajón por algún tiempo... mientras tanto me conformo con que lo vean todos ustedes, compañeros trabajadores de las agujas 😂❤️.
