I really liked this contest, it was a lot of fun trying to guess everyone's projects. Finally, after so much mystery (?) here is mine: it is a Mario Bros mini-costume for my little doll ❤️. ¡Hola amigos de Needle Work Monday! Feliz lunes de agujas para todos 💖. Estoy muy feliz y ansiosa de que al fin haya llegado el día de revelar todos nuestros proyectos secretos jajaja. Este concurso me gustó muchísimo, fue muy divertido intentar adivinar los proyectos de todos. Finalmente, después de tanto misterio(?) aquí está el mío: se trata de un mini-disfraz de Mario Bros para mi pequeña muñeca ❤️. ¿Se lo imaginaban? 😃
Well, I think the one who came closest to guessing my project based on the clues I gave in my first post was @creacioneslelys, who suggested that it was a hat and an outfit for my doll. Yes she was right! I chose to do this project because I was inspired by the colors of the fabrics that I had and since I love to take advantage of pieces and make these little garments, I thought that a small costume would look great for her ❤️.
Bien, creo que la que estuvo más cerca de adivinar mi proyecto en base a las pistas que di en mi primer post fue @creacioneslelys, quien sugirió que se trataba de un gorro y un atuendo para mi muñeca. ¡Sí que estaba en lo cierto! Elegí hacer este proyecto porque me inspiraron los colores de las telas que tenía y como me encanta aprovechar retazos y hacer estas pequeñas prendas me pareció que quedaría genial un pequeño disfraz para ella ❤️.
According to the official page , the Super Mario Bros game was released in 1985. The story is about the kingdom of Mushroom people had been invaded by the Koopa tribe of turtles, who turned the inhabitants into stones, bricks, and plants. The only person who could reverse this spell was Princess Toadstool, daughter of the Mushroom King, but unfortunately she had been captured by Bowser, the King of the Koopas. That is why the plumber Mario embarks on an adventure inside the sewers of the kingdom where he faces the Koopas to rescue the princess and return everything to normal ❤️. Según la página oficial, el juego Super Mario Bros fue lanzado en el año 1985. La historia se trata de que el reino de las personas Champiñón había sido invadido por la tribu de tortugas Koopa, quienes convirtieron a los habitantes en piedras, ladrillos y plantas. La única persona que podía revertir este hechizo era la princesa Toadstool, hija del rey Champiñón, pero desafortunadamente había sido capturada por Bowser, el rey de los Koopas. I hadn't made pants this small in a long time, basically since last year when I made the first and only ones 😂. To make this garment, I got the patterns here. In total you need 4 pieces that make up the legs, one piece for the top and two straps for the suspenders.
Llevaba mucho tiempo sin hacer unos pantalones tan pequeños, básicamente desde el año pasado cuando hice los primeros y los únicos 😂. Para hacer esta prenda, obtuve los patrones aquí. En total se necesitan 4 piezas que conforman las piernas, una pieza para la pechera y dos tiras para los tirantes.
This was the blue thing I was stitching in the photos in my previous post. To assemble a pants, you must first join the front pieces and then the back pieces. On the back there should be a velcro so that the pants can open and close. The next step is to face front and back and sew first on the inside of the legs and then the sides. Finally, flip the garment.
Esto era lo azul que estaba cosiendo en las fotos de mi post anterior. Para ensamblar un pantalón, primero debes unir los las piezas delanteras y luego las traseras. En la trasera debe ir un velcro para que el pantalón pueda abrir y cerrarse. El paso que sigue es enfrentar frente y trasero y coser primero en el interior de las piernas y luego los costados. Finalmente, voltear la prenda.

This is where the buttons I mentioned in my previous post come into the picture. This jumpsuit has two yellow buttons and it just had some that fit perfectly for this project 💛. I sewed them with white thread and painted the thread with a yellow fiber. What stunt not? LOL.
Aquí es donde estran en escena los botones que mencioné en mi publicación anterior. Este enterito lleva dos botones amarillos y justamente tenía unos que encajaban perfecto para este proyecto 💛. Los cosí con hilo blanco y pinté el hilo con una fibra amarilla. ¿Qué trucazo no? jajaja.

Red t-shirt / Remera roja
Making the shirt was very simple as I found a one-piece pattern that I loved. You can see it here . The shape is like a cross with a hole in the center. To assemble the shirt, you just have to fold the fabric and sew the outline of the sleeve and the sides and that's how easy you get the garment ❤️.
Hacer la camiseta fue muy sencillo ya que encontré un patrón de una sola pieza que me encantó. Pueden verlo aquí . La forma es como una cruz con un agujero en el centro. Para armar la remera solo hay que doblar la tela y coser el contorno de la manga y el torso y así de fácil obtienes la prenda ❤️.

Hat / Gorro
Well I think this was the clue that confused everyone and made you think that it was a clown, which was just what I wanted to achieve, fool you 🤡! With the pieces to form the hat, a clown face could also be formed and the half-made hat looked like a clown's nose. Instructions for making this little hat were obtained from this tutorial .
Bueno creo que esta fue la pista que confundió a todos y los hizo pensar que se trataba de un payaso, que era justo lo que quería lograr, ¡engañarlos 🤡! Con las piezas para formar el gorro también se podía formar una cara de payaso y el gorro a medio hacer parecía una nariz de payaso. Las instrucciones para hacer este pequeño gorrito las obtuve de este tutorial.

This hat took me the most work because it is really small. I faced the visor pieces first and put them together. Then I joined the rectangular strip and sewed it all the way around the circle. Finally, I joined the visor and hat by hand because it was already very difficult for me to pass the machine to it.
Este gorro fue lo que más trabajo me llevó porque es realmente pequeño. Primero enfrenté las piezas de la visera y las uní. Luego uní la tira rectangular y la cosí por todo el contorno del círculo. Finalmente uní visera y sombrero a mano porque ya se me hacía muy difícil pasarle la máquina.

And when I thought the worst was over, it was time to make the logo hahahahaha. My God, doing this made me sweat. With a lot of patience and hand sewing of course, I was able to put the logo on the little hat ❤️.
Y cuando creí que lo peor ya había pasado, fue el turno de hacer el logo hahahahaha. Mi Dios, hacer esto me hizo sudar. Con mucha paciencia y costura a mano por supuesto, pude lograr colocarle el logo al pequeño gorrito ❤️.

Finally, the suit looks like this. Really cute ❤️. You know, my doll had several dresses but very few pants so this project is something different than what she is used to modeling, but I hope she likes it anyway 😅.
Finalmente, el traje se ve así. Realmente tierno ❤️. Saben, mi muñeca tuvo varios vestidos pero muy pocos pantalones por lo que este proyecto es algo distinto a lo que está acostumbrada a modelar, pero de todos modos espero que le guste 😅.

Well, at this point I think I got excited and decided to make some other items that appear in the game: the star, which allows you to destroy enemies just by touching them; the red mushroom that gives you some special powers like jumping higher or being more resistant to enemies; and the green mushroom that gives you an extra life. I glued these elements and then gave a decorative seam around the contour 😃.
Bueno a este punto creo que ya me había emocionado mucho y decidí hacer algunos otros ítems que aparecen en el juego: la estrella, que te permite destruir enemigos con solo tocarlos; el hongo rojo que te da algunos poderes especiales como saltar más alto o ser más resistente a los enemigos; y el hongo verde que te otorga una vida extra. Estos elementos los uní con pegamento y luego di una costura decorativa en el contorno 😃.
Also, I involved my little sister in this project and asked her to make me a background for the photoshoot hahahaha ❤️. She said yes, but I will have to give her a percentage of the post rewards (these advantageous kids 😅).
Además, involucré a mi hermanita en este proyecto y le pedí que me haga un fondo para la sesión de fotos hahahaha ❤️. Ella dijo que sí, pero tendré que darle un porcentaje de las recompensas de la publicación (estos niños ventajeros 😅).
