Espero que puedan aprovecharlo para descansar o para ponerse al día con las cosas que quieran hacer 😘. En esta oportunidad quiero participar de la iniciativa propuesta por nuestra compañera @irenenavarroart, en donde nos propone mostrar como han mejorado nuestras habilidades en las manualidades. The sewing machine that I have was a gift for my birthday last year, and I opened this blog in June 2020, so my entire sewing learning process is documented here at Hive and precisely in the Needle Work Monday community. This is very interesting because it allows me to see how I did things before and see how I was improving project after project.
La máquina de coser que tengo fue un regalo para mí cumpleaños del año pasado, y me abrí este blog en junio 2020, por lo que todo mi proceso de aprendizaje de costura está documentado aquí en Hive y precisamente en la comunidad de Needle Work Monday. Esto es muy interesante porque me permite ver de qué manera hacía las cosas antes y ver como fui mejorando proyecto tras proyecto.
Those who follow me since my beginnings 😅 know that the projects that I do most frequently are those of doll clothes and lingerie. I like to work with small parts and I have the patience to do it. Besides, I finish these types of projects relatively quickly, which is good for me because I like to start something and finish it on the spot. So, for this initiative, I want to share with you what I think my progress has been in this type of works. Here we go ❤️.
Quienes me siguen desde mis inicios (?) saben que los proyectos que hago con mayor frecuencia son los de ropa de muñecas y de lencería. Me gusta trabajar con piezas pequeñas y tengo paciencia para hacerlo. Además ese tipo de proyectos los termino relativamente rápido, lo que me viene bien porque me gusta empezar algo y terminarlo en el momento. Entonces, para esta iniciativa quiero compartir con ustedes cuales creo que han sido mis avances en este tipo de trabajos. Aquí vamos ❤️.
❤️ Improved fit of doll garments. / Mejora en el ajuste de las prendas de muñeca. ❤️
In the first dresses I made, all the patterns were by eye according to what I thought would look good: the tops were rectangles with darts made on the machine and gathered rectangles for the skirts. Then, I started looking for precise molds for this doll and her body type, and the shapes of the skirts I drew based on tutorials on the Internet. This makes the dresses fit perfectly to your body, giving a neater result 😃.
En los primeros vestidos que hacía, todas las molderías eran a ojo según lo que me parecía que iba a quedar bien: los tops eran rectángulos con pinzas hechas sobre la máquina y rectángulos fruncidos para las polleras. Luego, empecé a buscar moldes precisos para esta muñeca y su tipo de cuerpo, y las formas de las faldas la dibujé yo en base a tutoriales de Internet. Esto hace que los vestidos se ajusten perfectamente a su cuerpo, dando un resultado más prolijo 😃.

As I was doing more and more garments, I was encouraged to incorporate more things into my projects, such as lined pieces, ruffles, sleeves, etc. Sewing all these things in miniature is not easy but the end results are worth it ❤️.
A medida que fui haciendo más y más prendas me animé a incorporar más cosas a mis proyectos, como piezas forradas, volados, mangas, etc. Coser todas estas cosas en miniatura no es sencillo pero los resultados finales valen la pena ❤️.

❤️ Correct use of elastics and lingerie accessories. / Uso correcto de elásticos y avíos de lencería. ❤️
I think that in my lingerie projects this is my most important advance: as the months went by I instructed myself and learned what are the necessary inputs to put together a good garment that is elegant and functional. In my first projects I used only one type of elastic for the whole garment, when the correct thing is that each part has a different type of elastic: the strap is of one type, the ends are of another, the waist of the bodices is another, etc...
Creo que en mis proyectos de lencería este es mi avance más importante: con el pasar de los meses me instruí y aprendí cuales son los insumos necesarios para armar una buena prenda que sea elegante y funcional. En mis primeros proyectos usaba un tipo de elástico para toda la prenda, cuando lo correcto es que cada parte lleva un tipo de elástico diferente: el bretel es de un tipo, las terminaciones son de otro, la cintura de los corpiños es otra, etc.
Also, now I know how to make adjustable straps and add metal rings and two-position snaps to make the garment look more professional 😎.
Además, ahora sé hacer breteles que se regulen y añado argollas y broches metálicos de dos posiciones para que la prenda se vea más profesional 😎.

This is also another very important point in making lingerie: a garment in addition to being cute has to fulfill its function of holding everything in place. The clothes I make now have more pieces and more elastic for more containment, unlike the ones I did before where I was only concerned that the cups are the correct size so that the breasts look cute lol. The only thing that remains the same in me is my admiration for the lace fabric that is beautiful ❤️.
Este también es otro punto muy importante en la confección de lencería: una prenda además de ser linda tiene que cumplir su función de sostener todo en su lugar. Las prendas que hago ahora tienen más piezas y más elásticos para más contención, a diferencia de las que hacía antes en las que solo me preocupaba que las tazas sean del tamaño correcto para que los senos se vean lindos jajaja. Lo único que sigue igual en mi es mi admiración por la tela de encaje que es hermosa ❤️.
I think I got a little emotional making this post 😅. Without a doubt, this past year was one of the most productive of my life, I had never learned so many things before. And it's weird because when I got the sewing machine for the first time I didn't even know how to thread it, I had to call the technician who fixed it for me to explain how the thread was put on. Then I also called him to ask how the coil was filled, poor man, I drove him crazy. But everything paid off. I love to sew and am glad I discovered it ❤️. Thank you fellows from NWM for accompanying me throughout this process 😍.
Creo que me emocioné un poco haciendo esta publicación jajajaja. Sin dudas este año que pasó fue uno de los más productivos de mi vida, nunca antes había aprendido tantas cosas. Y pensar que cuando me trajeron la máquina por primera vez ni la sabía enhebrar, tuve que llamar por teléfono al técnico que me la arregló para que me explique como se ponía el hilo. Luego también lo llamé para que me diga como se cargaba la bobina jajajaja, pobre hombre, lo volví loco. Pero todo dio sus buenos frutos. Me encanta coser y me alegro de haberlo descubierto ❤️. Gracias compañeros de NWM por acompañarme en todo este proceso 😍.
