Needleworkmonday: My Upcoming Project Story

Hello everybody,

Last night hubby was writing something then asked me what day today, I replied, "Sunday, July 11." All of a sudden, ho my, I remembered 6 days from now will be my bornday anniversary! Shocks, I do not have something new to wear which I make. What crochet top design should I make? My question to myself.

To answer this I opened Pinterest for inspiration. Scrolled for an hour, I was looking for a quick and easy top that I can wear in any occasion daily wear or can be beach cover as well. Found it at last. Without delay I searched my stash. And, started right away.

In my stash mostly soft indophil yarns, 4 ply I ordered online. Then the colorway I chose this pastel colors lilac, apple green, skin tone and light yellow for other colors are all dark colors.

The stich use is filet stich we call "kurtina" or curtain way. I did a twist instead of horizontal rows, I crocheted it vertically.

How I did it...

Row(R) 1: Using 3mm hook, I started ch (chain) 3, 1 dc (double crochet) in 1st ch calling this my foundation line - twin dc, then repeat 42X.

R2: ch 2, skip 1 twin dc, 1 edc (extended dc) view this to those who are new to edc stitch

Repeat till end forming 42 spaces.

I time my pace, 1 filet row done in 5 mins, ahahaha my pace now a days is really slow due to my high uric acid. 10 rows per color x four colors, so, it will be 40 rows right side and 40 rows back side of the top. At the moment of writing, I did already 25 rows thus, 55 rows more to go. Meaning I will be crocheting 275 minutes more plus the edging.
