Like you already known, there are 3 kittens on my place now and they really like to play. So, I got an idea to make a fish rope from colourful felt fabrics, it was easy and fun to make. Here in this article I would like to share the materials and things needed plus easiest steps how I made it. Now, let’s check it out!
Materials & Things Needed:
Some felt fabrics in soft pink, pink, turquoise, olive green, black and also cream.
A scissors
A Sewing needle
Some Embroidery Floss in the same colour as the fabrics
A Pink ribbon
A plastic straw
How to make it:
1st STEP
Cut the soft pink felt to make a twin fish which was connected in the mouth part. Then cut the turquoise for the fin, black for the eyes, pink for face area, and green for the scale.
2nd STEP
Also cut the yellow fabric for the scale, if it put together like on the picture. Continue to cut pink fabric for the smaller fish, for the face of it, cut the soft pink fabric and for the fin, cut the cream colour. Then I also put them together. After that, I start to sew the two eyes for the bigger soft pink fish.
3rd STEP
I then whipped stitch around for the big fish’s face, then I sew the turquoise fin then the yellow scales. For the fin and also scales, sew the front part of it only.
4th STEP
Complete the big fish with the green scales. Then add the soft pink to the little pink fish by sewing the eyes using two strains of black embroidery floss, then with cream floss, sew the cream fins.
5th STEP
Make a knot for the pink ribbon, then put it inside the big fish then sew around. Don’t forget to put cotton balls in before finished sewing around it.
6th STEP
Continue to sew it until all well sewn. Next for the small fish put on its’ top but it would be moving up and down so need to make knot again to the ribbon.
7th STEP
Last put the ribbon into a plastic straw then make a stop by sewing the soft pink fabric on the top. Then it’s finished, the cute fish rope is finished.
Then we tired the toy to play with the kittens, although at first they don’t know what it was, they then enjoy trying to catch it later.
