As I like to promote activities that have low environmental impact such as recycling, today I will share with you an experience of recovering a garment that has been in my repair projects for a long time, it is an old canvas bag that I thought to give a new opportunity as it is made of a strong fabric that has a waterproof reverse and is still in good condition. Also repairing it seemed like a way to save some money with a little creativity.

I thought about fixing it for utilitarian purposes because I was missing a somewhat sturdy bag for daily purchases and in which I could put wet things like meat or fish and this old bag seemed ideal for its interior lining.

To begin with, I removed the yellow semi-leather part and the outer pocket, made braids with the material of the handles, removed the damaged closure and reinforced the upper part with part of the same inner material. All this procedure was manual as well as the internal reinforcement seams and adjustment of the handles.

Después de hacer todos los arreglos necesarios, me parece que quedò bien y que cumplía con mis expectativas para el fin que lo tenìa destinado: ir de compras.Sin embargo pensé añadirle un toque coqueto o divertido y le puse de adorno un lazo de encaje con unas florecitas rojas que destacan muy bien en la tela de rayas amarillas. Quedò como nuevo!
After making all the necessary arrangements, it seemed to me that it turned out well and that it met my expectations for the purpose it was intended for: shopping, however I thought to add a flirtatious or fun touch and adorned it with a lace bow with little red flowers that stand out very well on the yellow striped fabric. It was like new!
