Happy Monday #NeedleWorkMonday community, I am very happy to participate in the Freeneedling challenge proposed by @crosheille, when I read the post I thought of several projects I have done, and I was encouraged to share the story behind them.

In previous publications I have commented that sewing is my passion, my moment of relaxation, of creativity, in which I concentrate to the maximum and try to do the best I can; also that it was born or surfaced in me with motherhood; I started with small projects mainly for my family as simple baby sheets, towels, diapers; I remember that with my sister I made several covers with animal decorations (one of which I shared in a previous publication), at the beginning I had a lot of difficulty with the zig zag finishes, they were not centered and I had to do them over and over again, until I got the ideal finish, it was exhausting to repeat the process several times but I did not give up; In retrospect I think that my eagerness to finish a project did not allow me to concentrate on each step I had to do; nowadays I try to take the work very calmly and dedicate the time they require, I must also admit that there are times when it is difficult to finish a piece, and what I do is get up, I take a break and back I have a clearer idea of how to do it, I proceed again to work and what seemed to have no solution is extremely simple.
En publicaciones anteriores he comentado que la costura es mi pasión, mi momento de relax, de creatividad, en el cual me concentro al máximo y trato de hacerlo lo mejor que pueda; también que nació o afloró en mi con la maternidad; inicié con proyectos pequeños principalmente para mi familia como sabanas sencillas para bebés, toallas, pañales; trabajos que no demandarán mucha costura , solo un dobladillo y una puntada decorativa, a medida que iba avanzando asumía retos más demandantes, recuerdo que con mi hermana hice varias fundas con decoraciones de animales (una de las cuales compartí en una publicación anterior), al principio tenía mucha dificultad para los acabados con zig zag, no quedaban centrados y tenía que hacerlos una y otra vez, hasta obtener el acabado ideal, era agotador repetir el proceso varias veces pero no me rendía; me trasnochaba incluso hasta terminarlo. Viéndolo en retrospectiva pienso que mis ansias por terminar un proyecto no me permitían concentrarme en cada paso que debía realizar; actualmente trato de tomar los trabajos con mucha calma y dedicarles el tiempo que requieran, debo admitir también, que hay momentos en los cuales se me complica culminar una pieza, y lo que hago es levantarme, me tomo un descanso y de regreso tengo una idea más clara de como hacerlo, procedo nuevamente manos a la obra y lo que parecía no tener solución resulta sumamente sencillo.
Making the decorative covers with animals was a challenge for me, I wanted to do everything quickly to prove to myself that I could do it which led me to unpick several times, to get a good result, one of the fabrics that I like to work with is Polar Blanket, since my son was born we made several sheets with it, it is a fabric that I particularly love, it is soft and manageable and can be used for stuffed animals, sheets, appliqués, among others.
The first decorative animal cover I made was with a rabbit, there was not much fabric, there were only scraps of sheets from a nephew, I sewed several strips to form the rectangle and then I glued the rabbit, I was very happy to see the result, I think I showed it several times to my family and asked them how it looked,
Progressively after buying some fabrics, I was adding more animals to the collection, a pink pig, with blue background to make it stand out even more, this one I found very cute because of its appearance and the texture of the fabric, I did it in about a day and thanks to DI
Progresivamente después de comprar algunas telas, fui agregando más animales a la colección, un cochino de color rosa, con fondo azul para que resaltara aún más, este me pareció muy tierno por su aspecto y la textura de la tela, lo hice en aproximadamente un día y gracias a Dios no tuve que descoser.
I also made another one decorated with a sheep, with it I had a little difficulty when sewing along the edges, as it has many curves and must be done very carefully and slowly so that the seam is as uniform as possible and does not lose its shape, I loved this project because I learned to zig zag stitch in curve, which although it takes a little more time than sewing in a straight line, gives very good results.
Además hice otra decorada con una oveja, con ella tuve un poco de dificultad al momento de coser por los bordes; ya que tiene muchas curvas y debe hacerse con mucho cuidado y pausado para que la costura quede lo más uniforme posible y no pierda la forma, este proyecto me encantó porque aprendí a pasar puntada zig zag en curva, el cual aunque lleva más tiempo que coser en línea recta, da muy buenos resultados.
Finally I want to share the cover adorned with a horse, I comment that this project is one of the most recent, about 1 month, the process of elaboration is quite long, you have to join the 4 pieces of the horsehair with straight stitch and then spend double zig zag, one to rework and the other to stick it to the fabric, also the legs are somewhat small and you have to sew slowly so that the seam is not left out, despite the time it took me to finish it I was very pleased with the work. My collection of animal decorated pillowcases also includes fish, penguins, bull and worms.

Finalmente quiero compartir la funda adornada con un caballo, les comento que este proyecto es uno de los más recientes, aproximadamente 1 mes, el proceso de elaboración es bastante largo, hay que unir las 4 piezas de la crín con puntada recta y luego pasar doble zig zag, uno para repisar y el otro para pegarlo a la tela, además las patas son algo pequeñas y hay que coser despacio para que la costura no quedé fuera, a pesar del tiempo que me tomó terminarlo quedé muy complacida con el trabajo. Mi colección de fundas decoradas con animales también incluye, peces, pingüinos, toro y gusanos.

Creo con mucha certeza que cuando amamos lo que hacemos, coser, tejer, bordar, cocinar entre otros; no importa las veces que tengamos que empezar de nuevo, ese proceso de iniciar una y otra vez contribuye significativamente a nuestro aprendizaje y en el camino vamos aprendiendo y descubriendo "trucos" que nos ayudaran a facilitar el trabajo en futuros proyectos.
