Today I want to share my activities during the lockdown in Indonesia.
Basically my job is a special tailor the curtains and bed linen ever since 2 years ago.
I started a business selling curtains and bed linen after I resigned from my old job as a private employee in factory gloves, in Tanjung Morawa.
Beginning pioneered the production of bed linen and curtains because I idly decorating a new house we bought two years ago. Alhamdulillah this work into the activities that I prefer and work only at home.
On this occasion I want to share tips and tricks to sew bed linen that is easy to understand.
Normally I buy fabric bed linen in Jl. Perniagaan, Medan.
What you need to know are the terms of the first purchase linen fabric that is with the field of the cloth of 240 cm. Because it's the mattress that we use has some fields as follows:
Length x Width
100x200
120x200
160x200
180x200
200x200
The field of mattress that 200cm, so if you have a high mattress 30cm we need the length fabric as follows:
200+30+30: 260cm
We have a fabric with a field of 240 so we need extra fabric sewn on the top field that is 20 cm and 5 cm for sewing the edge with a total additional 25cm. Total fabric for bed linen 180+30+30+5: 245cm
For pillow cases and the bolster, we need the width of the fabric is 170cm. Total fabric for the whole bed linen 180x200x30 is casing 460cm.
For ruffle size. it takes the width of the fabric 50cm and long 600cm
Okay we start to sew..
Sewing fabric which has been cut with a width 245cm with 25cm and sewing on parts of the upper field.
Then sewing on the ends of the fabric (the elbow) with a size of 32cm (±2cm for sewing the edge)
- Cut the fabric and sewing serging on the ends of the fabric. Do to the 4 sides of the bed linen.
- After you're done sewing the elbows bed linen, add a rubber on the edge of the bed with the size of the rubber 20cmx5cm. After it was sewing the edge of linen fabric.
- To the field of pillow and bolster, for two into the field of 120cm.
- For pillows divided into size 60x170 and to bolster become 85x120

- Sewing the ruffle into side to side bed linen
Taraaaa.. ruffle bed linen finish..
