Difficult Days For Our Queens.

During the summer, the most difficult moment comes that is, insert the queens into the cages.

As absurd and unloving as it may, this is the only way to combat the Varroa mite, which is the main cause of honey bee die in all countries of the world, except for the Asian continent, where the vorroa originated.

For about twenty years now the varroa has spread all over the world, many attempts have been made by researchers and beekeepers to curb this unstoppable parasite. But at the moment what you can do is just dab it. In fact, even today we have not been able to find a permanent solution. We will need to keep the queens in the cages for about 24 days. That is the time for all larvae to be born

But why is it important to put queens in a cage?

Varroa reproduces inside the small cells where the bees' eggs are laid. By interrupting this cycle and using an oxalic acid based solution, it will be possible to kill all the Varroe in forensic state. Therefore, since there is no varroe in a reproductive state, we will have an efficiency of almost 99%.
