My dear forest, my poor forest

Hay..hay Hive friends wherever you are, I hope you are all in good health so you can move freely. In our current post it contains a Campaign so that we can always work together with nature, look after and protect each other, so that they are also able to protect us from disasters caused by nature itself.

Our journey that has passed through so many sub-districts, exploring rivers, forests and climbing with all the road conditions we have passed, has caused some concern due to the appearance of the current Protected Forest.

When we were at the elementary school level, with natural science lessons, in that lesson we got an initial knowledge of the forest. That the forest functions as a reservoir for Carbohydrates, Habitat for Flora and Fauna which of course must be protected so that no extinction occurs, and the most important aspect is the biosper aspect of the earth.

And the most important thing from the natural science lessons that are still embedded and clearly remembered in the brain is that the existence of forests is able to prevent natural disasters, such as flash floods and landslides that have occurred several times in the Langkat and Karo districts.

The flash floods and landslides, of course, not only paralyzed the economy of the surrounding community, because tourist attractions in the area were affected by the disaster, but also claimed lives, and residents' houses were destroyed by the flood.

It is a very sad and worrying condition to see the forests that were once dense and thriving, now many are denuded due to forest fires and illegal logging to be replaced by agricultural land and plantations. Residents are exploited without calculation and the greedy nature of humans dominates.

Moreover, in some places, forests that should be overgrown with large trees whose roots are capable of absorbing large amounts of rainwater, have now been replaced by oil palm plantations owned by residents and several limited liability companies which actually have permits from the government, but many have violated the permits. the.

Not to mention that the deforested forest is turned into agricultural land by residents which cannot accommodate large amounts of rainwater, as a result, when the rainy season arrives, the area is often hit by landslides. Very worrying condition

Around the Protected Forest Area, there are actually many warning signs installed so that we don't throw garbage carelessly and it is forbidden to cut down trees. But in reality it's all bullshit.

IMG_20211003_071555.jpg

Reforestation or forest replanting with a campaign to plant 1000 trees has actually been initiated for a long time and has been initiated by the government in collaboration with various existing organizations, but apparently the reforestation campaign has not been able to keep up with the large number of illegal logging that has occurred.

We are grateful that we, who live close to Karo and Langkat regencies, did not experience the severe forest fires that often occur in the Riau area, and have an impact on neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore. The sad thing about this forest fire disaster, once again because of the trivial problem of clearing agricultural land that intentionally burns existing forests without thinking about the risks.

And I don't know how long this will happen, especially if forest guard activists are punished for losing to the capitalists. And in this post we pray for my forest to be healthy always to be the lungs of the world.
