El día de hoy vengo muy emocionada a contarles y mostrarles mi primera cosecha de melones en casa, que, aunque fue pequeña fue suficiente para disfrutar del fruto de mi propio jardín y deleitarme con tan delicioso jugo de esta fruta que tanto me gusta, sin duda es un verdadero privilegio poder cosechar por nuestra propia cuenta y adquirir los alimentos frescos de una manera satisfactoria como recompensa por nuestro esfuerzo, sin más que añadir, aquí les muestro más.
Today I am very excited to tell you and show you my first harvest of melons at home, which, although it was small, was enough to enjoy the fruit of my own garden and delight myself with such delicious juice of this fruit that I like so much, without a doubt. It is a real privilege to be able to harvest on our own and acquire fresh food in a satisfactory way as a reward for our effort, without further ado, here I show you more.
Hace un tiempo noté una pequeña planta nueva en la tierra, con el tiempo me di cuenta de que se trataba de melón, a decir verdad no me lo esperaba, pues, antes había tratado plantando algunas semillas sin ningún éxito, pero, sin siquiera planearlo nació una planta de la nada, supongo que pudo haber caído una o varias semillas en la tierra al deshacerme de la cáscara de aquella última vez que compré esta fruta, pero como sea me emocionó finalmente tenerla.
Some time ago I noticed a small new plant on the ground, over time I realized that it was melon, to tell the truth I did not expect it, because before I had tried planting some seeds without any success, but, without even planning it a plant was born out of nowhere, I suppose one or more seeds may have fallen to the ground when I got rid of the peel from that last time I bought this fruit, but whatever it was I was excited to finally have it.
Mi emoción creció al ver sus primeros frutos y me pareció curioso que estaban cubiertos de una especia de pelitos blancos y muy finos, por lo que no parecían para nada a un melón, de no haberlo sabido con anterioridad jamás habría imaginado que así lucía un melón recién salido de su flor.
My excitement grew when I saw their first fruits and it seemed curious to me that they were covered with a spice of white and very fine hairs, so they did not look like a melon at all, if I had not known before I would never have imagined that this was how a melon looked fresh out of its flower.
En total fueron 4 melones, mucho más de lo que esperaba, con el tiempo fueron creciendo, pero, a la vez tomaron una forma muy extraña, eran redondos pero con ciertas imperfecciones en su forma, de igual manera los vigilé hasta que noté un día que uno de ellos se había comenzado a dañar, debido a las constantes lluvias el agua no se drenaba por completo, haciendo que este se pudriera en su parte inferior y en vista de eso lo tuve que desechar, sin embargo, los demás se salvaron y solo crecieron un poco más antes de que comenzara a sucederles lo mismo, entonces, para no perderlos al igual que el primero los retiré de la planta y los resguardé en un lugar cálido para que pudieran madurarse, lo dudé mucho pero o perdía nada con intentarlo, eran muy pequeños, apenas cabían en mi mano, lo que me daba pocas esperanzas ya que nunca había visto una fruta de estas de este tamaño.
In total there were 4 melons, much more than I expected, over time they grew, but, at the same time they took a very strange shape, they were round but with certain imperfections in their shape, in the same way I watched them until I noticed one day that one of them had begun to damage, due to the constant rains the water did not drain completely, causing it to rot in its lower part and in view of that I had to discard it, however, the others were saved and They only grew a little more before the same thing began to happen to them, so, in order not to lose them like the first one, I removed them from the plant and kept them in a warm place so that they could mature, I doubted it a lot but or I lost nothing by trying. They were very small, they barely fit in my hand, which gave me little hope since I had never seen a fruit of this size.
Solo bastaron unos 3 días para que maduraran los melones, para mi sorpresa si sucedió, se tornaron de un color amarillo, textura suave y un delicioso aroma a fruta dulce, me decidí a cortarlos a la mitad y comprobar su estado, y pues, parecían tal cual un melón de tamaño normal solo que en miniatura, estaban muy bien formados y listos para ser consumidos, en vista de esto extraje toda la pulpa y prepare un jugo para el almuerzo, y, no les miento cuando les digo que realmente estaba muy delicioso.
It only took about 3 days for the melons to ripen, to my surprise if it happened, they turned a yellow color, soft texture and a delicious aroma of sweet fruit, I decided to cut them in half and check their condition, and well, they seemed just like a normal size melon only in miniature, they were very well formed and ready to be consumed, in view of this I extracted all the pulp and prepared a juice for lunch, and, I am not lying to you when I tell you that it really was very delicious.
Quisiera finalizar este post diciéndoles que no hay nada más satisfactorio que obtener los alimentos de nuestro propio jardín, el hecho de cuidar de una planta que en un futuro dará frutos para nuestro beneficio no tiene comparación, es de las cosas más bonitas que se pueden hacer en la vida y desde mi punto de vista personal es muy gratificante y me llena de paz y felicidad.
I would like to end this post by telling you that there is nothing more satisfactory than obtaining food from our own garden, the fact of taking care of a plant that in the future will bear fruit for our benefit has no comparison, it is one of the most beautiful things that can be done. in life and from my personal point of view it is very rewarding and fills me with peace and happiness.
