Amazing Nature Botany Curation : July 2021 Report #2

We appreciate your posts and the following ones are randomly selected because of their botanical qualities. They are manually curated on behalf of the Amazing Nature Community.

First a brief explanation about Botany:

Botany is a broad term covering scientific study of plants. It could be from a small living organism to a tree. Included would be flora, fungi, lichens, trees and flowering plants.

We are also interested in plants for their psychological (good for the mind & soul) benefits.

Through botany, medicinal properties are discovered from nature. Food, medicines, parks, forests, pollution and much more have been improved with botanical knowledge. Botanists search for alternatives from the harmful chemicals used on crops and the deforestation that has damaged the health of our planet.

Herbalism, with ancient people identifying edible, medicinal or poisonous plants, is the original of Botany. Our ancestors and Native peoples were botanists in their own right. They knew of the healing properties to be found in plants but much of that knowledge had been lost to future generations.

Now I would like to bring your attention to the curated posts and ask you to show some love to the amazing authors:

  • @kawsar8035 has many guava trees around his house. He finds the nutritious and delicious fruit tasty to eat but this year the fruit has been infested with small insects and now unsuitable to consume.

  • @ryo-6414 hopes this 800 year old cherry tree lives to be 1000. We hope so too. This one of a kind cherry tree is not far from where he lives and he gets to often visit it and the many cherry tree nearby.

  • @progressivechef has planted many beautiful flowers at the back of his restaurant. When they are in bloom he notices how the atmosphere changes and there is a feeling of inner happiness.

  • @iris2016 sees a budding sunflower growing in her garden. She follows it through the various stages with photos to it’s end. Then it begans to release seeds. All the energy of the sunflower was concentrated in the growth of the seeds. It only remains for her to re-sow the seeds and it’s life cycle begins again.

  • @travelingcocoon adjusts to life living in a high-rise building after always living close to nature. Growing plants on the balcony has helped make the transition and taught many valuable lessons.
