📷 Florence Cathedral at Night

When we were looking for accommodation in Florence, I came across an ad on Airbnb — it offered a room in the apartment where the owner lived. Usually I am not too attracted to such housing options, I like when I am completely autonomous and will not bother anyone if I need to go to the bathroom, kitchen or leave the house. However, this housing had just a huge plus: the apartment was on the top floor and it had a lond open balcony and veranda encircling the house in a half ring. And from one side of this veranda there was a view, albeit from a distance, of the Florence Cathedral — Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower (Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore), a beautiful and majestic old building. It was built in a little less than a century and a half and was completed in 1436.

So, without hesitation, we decided to stay there and did not regret it at all! It was lovely to sit on the veranda in the evening and watch the city and the cathedral. Well, and take a picture of it, of course :) How good it is when beautiful old buildings are illuminated at night so that you can admire them! By the way, the large green dome on the right is the Great Synagogue of Florence (Tempio Maggiore Israelitico di Firenze), also a remarkable building, but much younger than the cathedral — its construction was completed in 1882.

So I can advise novice travelers and photographers to always look at the detailed description of the accommodation and the photos that are attached to it. For relatively little money, you can find absolutely wonderful apartments with an interesting view and other pleasant surprises :)

It's better to watch the photo in high resolution.
