Hi friends, Hive Blog. Today I want to discuss and at the same time want to introduce a famous icon in my country, namely Indonesia. Because several countries are synonymous with an icon. When the icon appears, people will immediately know the country. Apart from having a history, these icons must have a meaning so that they are ordained as landmarks. In Indonesia, there are hundreds of cities, each of which has buildings and monuments that have become very popular icons or landmarks. Apart from being an identity, icons or landmarks in Indonesia can be quite interesting tourist destinations. Immediately, I introduce 3 popular icons in my country:

1. Monas, Jakarta

The first icon that I introduce first is monas. This icon has become the pride of the people in Indonesia. Monas is located in the city of Jakarta, not far from where I live. This building has a height of about 132 meters. Monas was built and initiated by Indonesia's first president, namely Ir. Soekarno. The purpose of building this monument is to commemorate the resistance and struggle when Indonesia won independence from colonialism.

2. Borobudur Temple, Magelang

The next icon is "Borobudur temple". This icon is very global and is continuously visited by tourists. Borobudur temple is located in the city of Magelang and is the largest Buddhist temple ever, built during the Syailendra dynasty and built by the king of Samaratungga. If you visit Borobudur Temple, you will see hundreds of stupas, statues, and reliefs full of meaning. Therefore, the Borobudur temple has become a very popular Indonesian icon

3. Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Bali

The last icon that I will introduce is "Garuda Wisnu Kencana". This statue was inaugurated on September 22, 2018, and immediately gained worldwide popularity. This icon on the island of the gods was sculpted by a famous Balinese sculptor, “I Nyoman Nuarta”. This statue depicts Lord Vishnu riding the Garuda bird and has a height of about 120 meters.

Those were the 3 icons/landmarks that were popular in Indonesia. How about your country friends? Does it have a popular icon too? Write in the comments to introduce your country icon, my friends. Greetings 😊
