Over the years i have noted that quite a few friends and colleagues have told me they would never have children due to the state of the world. They may have been referring to different things, such as the economy, the environment, or of course a pandemic! When i thought about it i did wonder if that was a sensible view, and I almost immediately felt that if every one who was a good person did the same that pretty soon all the nice people would disappear! Well that may or may not be true.. sometimes our children surprise us and the most mean parents can turn out some real gems of kids!
So this week i would like to know what you think about this. There are so many reasons for and against having children. Almost any parent will testify that having children is an incredible journey that they would not change for the world. Is that selfish? Is our world in such a bad state that children suffer too much? Are things better or worse than they have ever been before? There are many things to consider, and as always... i leave it to you to decide what to focus on.
Have any of you heard of Danny Shine? He has been publicly speaking about this, on the street, for many years now. Whilst i don’t personally agree with some of the things Danny says.. he makes some great points.. and he is very entertaining. So just for fun I will share one of his videos with you now. If nothing else I think you will enjoy it.
