ecoTrain Question Of The Week Season 6 #9 Tie Up Post: Your Vision for the next 20 and 200 Years

Well done and thank you to everyone who took part this week! What a great response, so varied.. and sometimes oh so specific.. I have a feeling that quite a few of your predictions are going to come true.. and i hope that some of them won't too! One thing is for sure, things are going to look very different than they do today in even just 20 years. . and lets be honest.. are we even going to recognise ourselves in 200!? I cannot personally even imagine what humanity will be like in 200 years from now... but if i look back to the 1800's.. its clear how far we have come from there!!! I personally doubt whether i will be around in 200 years from how.. and even if there was a magic pill that i could swallow to allow it.. im not sure that i would take it. Another option, as you have suggested, is to have my mind downloaded into a computer and to become immortal. Now, that is really something to think about!

So thank you again everyone for making this QOTW what it is.. If you don’t see your post quoted below it probably because you didn’t copy the link to your post in the comments.. That's how I find all your posts!

@stortebeker
So whether we find ourselves in a high-tech utopia, or a neo-primitive society, or maybe both, or some place in between, it seems like there are so many possibilities that one option is as likely as all others. The only certain thing is that life will go on, with or without humans, in its multitude of forms, as it always has. This alone is enough to make me feel optimistic.

I also see technology going deeper in term of eliminating phone where our memories is use in sending calls, messages and connecting the internet, in that vain, the internet becomes our memories and our eyes becoming the speed as it blinks.

I forecast a world where people no longer used cars but fly by their self like bird's do, and this will eliminate delay in meetings, occasions and events that is important not to arrived late.

eople will no longer wear clothes as we almost watch in televisions. They will be a universal climate and weather change for each country. I see a world of a better tomorrow where they will be no more blood shade between countries both internal conflicts and external, I see a world of mutual understanding and Love.

I also believe that we will head towards mass vaccination, mass surveillance (it's already going on!), even more horrible things using 5G radiation in the future, that is IF we won't comply with their rules.

Now we are thinking about uploading or downloading something and it is taking some time. But 20 years later it will be super-fast and anyone who just want to upload and download something will be a matter of click. Education system will be completely online and will not find books except online.

as the world's population grows, so does environmental pollution. Moreover, with the increase in population, forests are being destroyed and crop lands are being destroyed and houses are being built there. As a result, in the near future we will have to deal with food problems. Many countries are currently struggling to cope with the food crisis, but in the future it will be even bigger.

Humanity more than technological advances needs a lot of love and forgiveness, of disarmament, of zero violence, of caring for our fauna and flora, of not polluting; We have all been so vulnerable to this pandemic regardless of its origin that, if we do not change and learn from all this, I think we would not know what could happen in 20 years.

I believe that given the predatory character that man has demonstrated throughout history, in twenty years the world's problems will be worse, global warming will continue to advance, creating hotter areas and making heat waves in countries located in both tropics stronger and those of more intense cold. In 200 years the world may not exist or people may be living in orbital stations.

One Single Worldwide Currency. many women will be routinely impregnated by artificial insemination instead of the traditional way of them having sex with a man to get pregnant. there will definitely be museums for almost every aspect of things concerning nature.

Robots would do most of the bidding in all sectors and there would be a lot of unemployed people. In 200 years from now, a system would have been introduced that men themselves are transformed into robots with the ability to think as fast as a machine and operate equally fast.

Applications of artificial intelligence may make it possible to solve the current shortage of doctors to provide specialized care to populations scattered across the planet. Genetic engineering will make it possible to eliminate most diseases by introducing modifications to our DNA. Where I see the greatest challenges is in our social organizations and the way we relate to each other.

I think calls will not be made with phones, pads, laptops and other means of communication which involves the use of gadget but rather will be done through human minds that every human's mind will be connected to the global communication system and with that, you can just talk to your love ones without the use of any gadget.

Hopefully by 20 years time there would be creations of 3-D technologies whereby information and entertainment will be shared in a very different manner. In 200 years ,I think and I hope scientists device a way or probably make a drug or a vaccine that could prevent people from contracting virus since most viruses do not have cure, thereby allowing human beings to live for as many years as possible.

It is very much possible that 20 to 30 years down the line there will be minimal human intervention in all the areas of life. Whether it will be a household utility or any services, it would all be technology dirven. In the 200 years, travels to other Planet would be a thing for a common man as well. We may have Aliens living with us. Transhumanism will be totally accepted and in existence.

The world technology will have grown more mobile than now were you can share your battery percentage with someone, phones will be multitasking and serving many in one purpose like phone detecting gold.

I'd like to think a larger proportion of the world's population will move into a post-captialist eco-peasant lifestyle, but I don't think we're anywhere near that happening on a global scale, I think MORE people are going to get sucked deeper into it than people getting out of it.

In 20 years from now, we will firmly be into the ice-age. There will be no talk of "global warming" or "climate change". It will be so obvious that glaciers are forming, and that our existence on earth will be a lot more tenuous.

Oh, and aliens have shown up. There is now no question that other races exist on other planets.
