Music is like food for the soul. Who can say that music hasn't uplifted and touched them so deeply, like nothing else? How many times has a song saved you, or brought you comfort in dark times? Music is like a universal language we can all understand it no matter what country it came from. The diversity of music and song we have in our world is breathtaking. Our ancestors and present day artisans have explored music and rhythm to such deep levels, and all for the passion and love of it. We all know how hearing a song can bring back some powerful memories, and love songs are the most famous of those songs that we remember. Theses special sounds are like a doorway through time and space, and can bring back those same feelings and memories that we experienced so long ago. Today many people idolise our musical stars, almost exclusively. Those people who have touched our hearts and given us such unique gifts are revered like gods by their fans, and some of them even start acting like so. The murder of the famous John Lennon for claiming to be more popular than Jesus demonstrates that very well! Music is very special indeed, and so this week we ask.. What is it about music?
This week we would like you to post about what music means to you. You could post about a time when music touched you, or made a moment very special. Perhaps music has saved you in some way during those very hard times. Maybe music gives you the inspiration to write or draw or paint and without it you could not do your work. Whatever you have to say about music, we want to hear about it! If you would like to simply share which music you like with us please do! You can embed sound-cloud links right into your posts, or link to them on YouTube so we can all listen to it easily. If you know about the history of music itself, or anything interesting related to music, spirituality, please do share it with us. For this post at least, music includes chanting. toning, or any kind of sound that is somehow special.
