Hola queridos hivers que hacen vida en esta objetiva comunidad de Ecotrain. Hoy me complace escribir este post para participar en el concurso:Question Of The Week Season 9.1 . What Does Spirituality Mean To You?.
La espiritualidad es un tema que conozco bien, pues desde pequeña he aprendido a cultivarla, mantenerla y apreciarla. Sé de primera mano sus beneficios en la actitud, pensar y sentir de uno como persona, pues es una forma de vida que me ha acompañado por muchos años ya. Gracias a la espiritualidad he logrado satisfacción y propósito en la vida.
Something that I think is important to identify in the first place is what "spirit" in one refers to and applies to the one that we should cultivate or have spirituality. The "spirit" that is in each person is: the force that drives us to have a certain attitude or emotion or that drives us to take a certain action or proceed. Although it is within and invisible, it produces effects that are visible. The development of the spirit is directly related to feelings and motives, to the heart. In such a way that "the spirit" of a conscious person is the mental inclination that drives us to actions and attitudes in life. It is reflected in the personality what kind of person you are. If you manifest love, kindness, generosity and other qualities in your life.
Algo que pienso es importante identificar en primer lugar es a qué "espíritu" en uno se refiere y se aplica el que debemos cultivar o tener la espiritualidad. El "espíritu" que hay en cada persona es: la fuerza que nos impulsa a tener cierta actitud o emoción o que nos impulsa a tomar cierta acción o proceder. Aunque esta por dentro de uno y es invisible, produce efectos que sí son visibles. El desarrollo del espíritu está relacionado directamente con los sentimientos y motivos, con el corazón. De tal forma que "el espíritu" de una persona consiente, es la inclinación mental que nos impulsa a acciones y actitudes en la vida. Se refleja en la personalidad qué clase de persona eres. Si manifiestas amor, bondad, generosidad entre otras cualidades, en tu vida.
Now it will be better understood what "spirituality" is for me. For me it is: the need to nourish and maintain my spirit. It is to manifest being spiritual in my attitude towards life, a desire for my spirit to deeply appreciate spiritual or religious values. And it is true that I belong to a religion that I consider to be the true one, and that has molded in me spirituality and the desire to maintain a life with high moral values, but I recognize that my spirituality does not depend on it. I understood why we need to nurture the spirit when I discovered where the tendency to be spiritual comes from. Just as, for example, when we like a craft or art, and we are told that "we are musically or artistically inclined", so it is with us as human beings, it is a tendency to achieve spirituality, that if we do not satisfy it we are not happy, we do not find purpose in life and we find it difficult to fill an unexplainable void.
Ahora se entenderá mejor lo que es para mí la "espiritualidad". Para mí es: la necesidad de alimentar y mantener mi espíritu. Es manifestar ser espiritual en mi actitud ante la vida, un deseo de que mi espíritu aprecie de manera profunda los valores espirituales o religiosos. Y es cierto que pertenezco a una religión que considero es la verdadera, y que me ha moldeado la espiritualidad y el deseo de mantener una vida con altos valores morales, pero reconozco que de ésta no depende mi espiritualidad. Comprendí por qué necesitamos nutrir el espíritu cuando descubrí de dónde nace la tendencia de ser espirituales. Así como por ejemplo, cuando nos gusta un oficio o arte, y nos dicen que "tenemos inclinación musical o artística", así sucede con nosotros como seres humanos, es una tendencia lograr la espiritualidad, que si no la satisfacemos no somos felices, no encontramos propósito en la vida y nos cuesta llenar un vacío inexplicable.
Spirituality is born from the fact that God created us in his image, or with the capacity to imitate his main qualities which are: love, justice, wisdom and power. As God is an Almighty, invisible spirit, the fact that we want to imitate him is engraved in our "genes". Recognizing that there is a "Creator" and that we exist because of him, nourishes our spirit. To know for what purpose he made us and to live accordingly, becomes a necessity in one. It is as the wisest man who ever lived on earth, Jesus Christ, said, "Happy are those who recognize their spiritual needs..." (The New World Translation Bible. Matthew 5:3). Satisfying that need is like when we are very hungry and until we do not eat something we are not calm and satisfied, this is how the Son of God, Jesus, who knows and taught perfectly what spirituality is, compared it. That is why as human beings we have this search to satisfy the spiritual need. We think that with work, family, personal achievements we will achieve it and in the end when we get what we believe will make us happy, it is not so. Something is always missing... that means that our spirituality is not being nourished, it is deficient.
La espiritualidad nace de que Dios nos creó a su imágen, o con la capacidad de imitar sus cualidades principales que son: amor, justicia, sabiduría y poder. Cómo Dios es un espíritu Todopoderoso, invisible, el que uno quiera imitarlo está grabado en nuestros "genes". El reconocer que hay un "Creador" y que existimos gracias a él, nutre nuestro espíritu. Conocer con qué propósito nos hizo y vivir de acuerdo con eso, se hace una necesidad en uno. Es como dijo el hombre más sabio que ha existido en la tierra, Jesucristo: "Felices los que reconocen sus necesidades espirituales..." (La Biblia traducción del nuevo mundo. Mateo 5:3). El satisfacer esa necesidad es como cuando tenemos mucha hambre y hasta que no comemos algo no estamos tranquilos y satisfechos, así llegó a compararlo el Hijo de Dios, Jesús, quien conoce y enseñó perfectamente lo que es la espiritualidad. De allí que como seres humanos tengamos esa búsqueda por satisfacer la necesidad espiritual. Pensamos que con trabajo, la familia, los logros personales lograremos alcanzarla y al final cuando obtenemos lo que creemos que nos hará felices, no es así. Siempre falta algo...eso significa que nuestra espiritualidad no está siendo alimentada, está deficiente.
As spirituality is cultivated, I have learned to do it, and also to maintain it. It is like wanting to sow a plant, to see it grow and enjoy its beautiful flower or eat its rich fruit, we must water it, take care of it and attend to it so that it grows and does not die. The same needs to be done with spirituality. The privilege I have to maintain it has become evident in my life and decisions.
Como la espiritualidad se cultiva, he aprendido a hacerlo, y también a mantenerla. Es como querer sembrar una planta, para verla crecer y lograr disfrutar de su hermosa flor o comer su rico fruto, debemos regarla, cuidarla y atenderla para que crezca y no se muera. Eso mismo se necesita hacer con la espiritualidad. El privilegio que tengo de mantenerla se ha hecho evidente en mi vida y decisiones.
But how have I managed to learn, maintain and demonstrate spirituality? The answer is interesting... and it is related to the theme of this season 9.1, which is sure to develop these kinds of questions as we move forward in the weeks ahead.
