White Collar Thugs

The need for "law and order" is always phrased in relation to what I like to call blue collar criminals. The "long arm of the law" literally doesn't reach high enough to reach the white collar criminals whose crimes negatively affect entire nations and the whole planet..

The fact that under capitalism we haven't really evolved past the era of Emperors and Kings is best seen in the way we, as a society, deal with crime. Or maybe not crime, maybe "injustice" is a better word because the white collar thugs that rule the nations and their inhabitants have fashioned for themselves laws to make their injustices exempt from being labeled crimes. We've gotten rid of the labels, like King, Count, Duke, Earl and peasants, but we've maintained the clear class-division behind those labels. When a peasant kills another peasant, he goes to jail. If a King kills a peasant, that's called justice. If a peasant kills a bunch of other peasants, it's domestic terrorism. When the King's army kills a far bigger bunch of peasants abroad, it's a just war. If I kill you by poisoning your food or drink, I'm a murderer. When Coca Cola dumps chemical waste in the river that provides drinking water for dozens of villages and their children die, well... nothing happens.

It's not that I condone blue collar crime, but I do call bullshit on everyone being equal under the law. We're just not. It's like the pigs in George Orwell's "Animal Farm": All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. And what's most infuriating about this injustice is that blue collar crime is often used to give even more tools to the white collar thugs to stamp down on all of us peasants. The 9/11 terrorist attacks were, as horrible as they were, a blue collar crime: a couple of peasants killed almost 3000 other peasants. The result was that the American government, a fine collection of white collar thugs, invaded two countries that had nothing to do with the attacks, Afghanistan and Iraq, and a gross violation of the rights and freedoms of all American peasants. They gave America the Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security, and it gave all the three-letter-agencies the right to spy on all Americans.

The latest example of this disturbing dynamic is in the aftermath of the storming of the Capitol on 6 January. Back in 2001 the Republicans were in power, and now it's the Democrats that will lead the way to even less freedom for American peasants. In one of my posts, I can't remember which one exactly, after that attempted coupe I already predicted that this event will be used to implement new anti domestic terrorism laws. I also warned against these laws because they will be introduced under the guise of combating far right extremist violence, but that they will eventually be used against every person, group or organisation that's deemed a threat to the white collar guardians of the status quo. And now Biden has released an "Anti Domestic Terrorism Initiative"... And its contents are exactly as I and any other person who has even superficially followed the news and politics these past decades predicted. Just watch the video, and then watch what's left of your rights and freedoms disappear...
