Normalizing Replacement Theory

Tucker Carlson is but one of the many public Republicans and other conservatives who are guilty of normalizing far right, racist and even fascist ideas. But he's one of the most influential fear-mongers of the American political right wing, as he hosts "Tucker Carlson Tonight," one of the, if not the most viewed program on the most viewed cable news channel inn the country.

White genocide, or the Great Replacement theory, is a far right, white nationalist conspiracy theory which states that, with the complicity or cooperation of "replacist" elites, the white population of European descendancy is being demographically and culturally replaced with non-European peoples of color through mass migration. This conspiracy theory is so racist and abhorrent that it's been renegaded to the farthest fringes of the far right, and way outside regular public discourse in mainstream media as well as alternative online media. Those days are gone; right now it's just another topic for discussion, pushed by the GOP and everything even further to the right.

Tucker: Why would Biden do this to his own country?

For years now I've heard Republicans and their supporters claim that the Democrats want "open borders" (which is utter nonsense), and that they promote mass migration into the United States, with the sole purpose of growing their support base. I'll link the episode of "Tucker Carlson Tonight" from 23 September above for your viewing disgust, and some reactions below. It's titled "Why would Biden do this to his own country?," and it's filled to the brim with white nationalist fear-mongering about Democrats wanting to replace white Americans with "non-white genes." He even uses words like "eugenics" and "great replacement" directly, not even bothering to conceal these ideas in the dog-whistling ways he uses so often.

Tucker Carlson Goes White Nationalist on Haitian Migrants

Tucker uses the same tactics as the white supremacists, spewing xenophobic ideas about "losing our culture to foreigners" (when there's no such thing as "white culture"), or "brown caravans at the border," culminating in accusing those who wish these people to be treated humanely of racism, when they themselves are of course the real racists. Tucker uses clips from Biden in 2015 to prove that the Democrats are out to replace white Americans of European descent, when all Biden said in that clip is the truth, namely that diversity has always been America's strength. Tucker even claims that Biden personally promised these refugees (let's not forget what they are; human beings trying to escape political and natural disasters) food-stamps and free healthcare, thereby enraging his far right audience whose tax-dollars will be used for the destruction of "their" America. It's sad, but since before Trump became president fascism has been on the rise in the richest and most powerful country on the planet, as well as in many western European countries. It's the same playbook as always; regular lower class and middle class citizens are being screwed for decades by the wealthy upper class, and they forget who their real enemies are. There's no class-consciousness to guide their anger, so they let demagogues and far right populists direct their anger at people of their own class, just with a different skin color, sexual orientation or religion; divide and rule, it's working better than ever before...
