Reading is an enriching medium for critical thinking, it is the beginning of the analysis and the perception about the things we need to understand to develop as critical and reflective beings.
In this vein, I want to start this reflection by quoting the words of Juan José Arreola, referred to the following: " If you can't read, you can't write and if you can't write, you can't think"
Certainly if you do not read it is difficult for you to think well because it is reading that encourages thinking, it is reading that enriches our memory to expand our language and our thinking, because if there is no reading in our life our language and vocabulary will be very poor because it is through it that we can expand or enrich our lexicon.

Reading promotes critical thinking and every person with a medium level of instruction should look for an indispensable vocabulary to be able to expand their knowledge because if we do not have words we will not have readings in our memory that enrich our language and our thoughts and lexicons will be very poor.
In this sense, it is important to encourage activities to develop reading comprehension so that what you read is of interest and inspires you to practice reading on a daily basis and thus you will obtain a greater capacity in what you read.
It is important to say that the reader who reads with interest and who asks questions will use all their effort, knowledge and skills to find answers to what they are looking for
In the same way, it is worth saying that remembering, repeating, memorizing is not understanding because it is vital to remember in order to understand and in this process the important thing is to activate previous knowledge and formulate the necessary purposes to promote reading and expand thinking to critical and reflective levels .
The daily practice of reading is essential to promote critical thinking which will provide a series of benefits in the person such as: motivation and disposition, open mind, intellectual humility, freedom of thought, impartiality, fortitude before consequences, intellectual empathy, perseverance intellectual, intellectual integrity, and trusting reason.
All these skills are provided by reading and obtained by a good reader who has understood that only through reading is the human being capable of acquiring a constructive process which will lead him to store and transmit knowledge of great depth.
