Have you heard of technological PCR or Phone Screen Testing?

In a previous post I mentioned that technological development has not ceased in spite of the adverse scenario generated by the pandemic of the new Coronavirus, since scientists have put all their intellect and effort to create conditions to reduce the number of deaths on a global scale.

One of the concerns about the increasing levels of contagion is linked to the lack of early detection of asymptomatic people, an element that puts healthy people at risk, hence, both pharmacological laboratories and technological development companies have been creating innovative methods that allow the early detection of asymptomatic people.

Among the novel methods of early detection of asymptomatic people, the one that stands out for its effectiveness is the technological PCR or Phone Screen Testing, whose objective is focused on identifying asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic patients, making use of cell phone screens as a way to take samples that are later analyzed by conventional biochemical methods, the results of which help reduce the spread of the virus.

The technological PCR or Phone Screen Testing, is the result of research conducted by a group of Chilean and British scientists, in this sense, according to Dr. Rodrigo Young creator of this method and researcher at the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London - UK, as people spend so much time touching and talking on our phones, what is left on the screen may be a good reflection of what we carry inside.

This novel technological method consists in that, instead of introducing a swab in the nose of the person, what they do is to pass the swab over the screen of their cell phone, it is estimated that its implementation on a large scale could help a lot to curb the pandemic so that we can return to a normal life.
