Today I would like to introduce my Hive Engine Witness.
The server is located in Germany and it costs 10 Euro per month.
Heute möchte ich meinen Hive-Engine-Witness vorstellen.
Der Server befindet sich in Deutschland und er kostet 10 Euro im Monat.
Hardware
It is a V-server with a 6 V-core CPU, a guaranteed RAM of at least 16GB and an all-flash SSD of 300 GB.
The server has a network connection of up to 500 MBit/s.
Es handelt sich um einen V-Server mit einer 6 V-Kern CPU, einem garantierten RAM von mindestens 16 GB und einer All-Flash SSD von 300 GB.
Der Server hat eine Netzanbindung von bis zu 500 MBit/s.
Operating system and software
Ubuntu 18.04. is installed on the server. Only the HE-Witness software, version 1.2.0, is running on the server.
Auf dem Server ist ein Ubuntu 18.04. installiert, auf dem ausschließlich die HE-Witness Software in der Version 1.2.0 läuft.
Measures to secure the server
Daily, manual control of security updates
Tägliche, manuelle Kontrolle von Sicherheits-Updates
Ssh login of the user "root" is not allowed
Ssh-Anmeldung des Benutzers "root" ist nicht erlaubt
Ssh login by user password is also not allowed and is done via an encrypted file
Ssh-Anmeldung durch Benutzerkennwort ist ebenfalls nicht erlaubt und erfolgt über eine verschlüsselte Datei
Fail2Ban is installed and set up.
Fail2Ban ist installiert und eingerichtet.
ssh port is changed and port 22 is redirected to ssh-tarpit (currently still in progress)
ssh-Port wird geändert und der Port 22 auf ssh-tarpit umgeleitet (momentan noch in Bearbeitung)
Note/Anmerkung
From time to time I have to deactivate the Witness to maintain and secure the server.
Then it can happen that it is not active for a short time.
I ask for understanding for this, because it is an important measure
Hin und wieder muss ich den Witness deaktivieren, um den Server zu pflegen und abzusichern.
Dann kann es vorkommen, das er für eine kurze Zeit nicht aktiv ist.
Ich bitte um Verständnis dafür, denn es ist eine wichtige Maßnahme.
