Gosh I needed a distraction yesterday so I decided to just try something easy that I had been thinking about for ages.
If you’ve followed my feed you’ll know that we’ve just finished our guava harvest from the tree in our back yard. And we were so inundated with Guavas that I’ve been making jam every week for the last 2 months. I feel like we really made the best out of this harvest and gave away bags of guavas to friends and YES! I made a LOT of GUAVA JAM.
SOOOO, I first experimented with a 2 ingredient dough, rolled it out, spread it with jam and the rest is history… all I can say is YUM!!!
Here’s how to make these tasty guava rolls.
GUAVA ROLLS
Ingredients
2 cups Self Raising Flour
1 ½ cups plain Yoghurt
Jam of choice - I used my homemade guava jam
Method
Preheat the oven to 200C.
Mix the self raising flour and yoghurt into a light and sticky dough.
Add extra flour to prevent sticking.
Spread it out on a floured tray and roll flat.
Spread the jam over the dough.
Roll the dough along its longest edge.
Cut into rolls about 8cm long (or whatever size you prefer)
Spray a baking tray with nonstick spray
Place your rolls on the tray and glaze with extra jam or yoghurt.
Bake at 200C for 15 minutes.
We enjoyed these egg-free treats and they all disappeared almost as fast as they were baked. You could easily double the recipe to make a more substantial batch.
I like to think they’re a twist on an apple danish which are one of my favourite things. I’m such a sucker for fruity pastries and now I can make my own at home!
I hope you enjoyed this super easy recipe.
