Golfeados are sweet buns similar to a cinnamon roll, but in my country, Venezuela, we add a honeydew of papelón and grated cheese, this combination of the sweet with the salty makes them very tasty and attractive to the eye. I ate them and I craved them a lot yesterday, my daughter motivated me to make them for the first time at home, we looked for a recipe online but we didn't make it the same because we didn't have things as they said there, so we had to modify measures and substitute some ingredients, the result was very good, I cannot express how proud I am to have made them successfully and I could not miss the opportunity to share the step by step with you.

125 grams of Papelón
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons of sugar for the mixture and one more to sprinkle.
2 tablespoons granulated yeast
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
½ tablespoon of salt
Cinnamon powder and anise to taste
250 grams of grated white cheese
Preparación / Preparation
The first step is to place 100 ml of warm milk in a container, add the 2 tablespoons of yeast and mix until it dissolves well, place in a closed container and let it rest for 15 minutes.
While the yeast rests, put the Papelón aside in a pot with a cup and a half of water, bring to high heat in the kitchen and wait for it to dissolve and take on a syrupy consistency.
In a bowl place the egg, butter, sugar, salt, vanilla and two tablespoons of the Papelón honey, mix manually with a spoon or other utensil until the butter dissolves and all the ingredients are blended.
Add the yeast milk and continue mixing. Add half the flour and continue mixing, add the rest of the flour and knead with your hands, when the dough is consistent add the anise and knead for about 20 minutes.
On a floured surface, spread the mace with a rolling pin, with a knife cut the edges to create a rectangle, add holm oak honeydew, sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar, then add grated cheese. Taking the less wide side of the rectangle, roll up the dough. Then with a knife cut into equal parts and place the greased and floured tray, the ideal is to use waxed paper if possible.
Let the golfeados rest for an hour before taking them to the oven previously preheated to the maximum for a time of 15 minutes, then remove them from the oven add honey and grated cheese on top, turn off the oven and leave the golfeados inside for a period of 5 minutes to let the cheese stick.
Resultado / Result
To enjoy these golfeados accompanied by a coffee, tea or even milk, I think they are good for anyone's snack, especially for children like my grandson.
