In Indonesia, the Mie Ayam is recognized as a popular Chinese Indonesian dish. The seller of Mie Ayam used to using a travelling vendor carts frequenting residential areas, humble street-side warung to restaurants.

See the process of cooking Mie Ayam was interesting. When you order 1 prtion of Mie Ayam, the seller would directly boiled the yellow wheat (Mie or Ramyeon) in the hot water until it achieves an al dente texture. After that they would mixed the yellow wheat with cooking oil, soy sauce and garlic in a bowl.

Even tough it contains chicken, the chicken isn't like a big piece like Pecel Ayam. It's diced meat and cooked by soy sauce and other seasonings including garlic. The chicken meat might also be cooked with mushrooms.

Besides the Chicken, meat ball is one of the topping of Mie Ayam. There's a vegetable and chopped springs onion as the topping. Another additional condiments of Mie Ayam are fried shallots, fried dumpling skin, pickled cucumber, sambal, and tomato ketcup.

I used to asked the seller to add more chopped springs union cause I really like it. I used to asked the seller not to add sambal, tomato ketcup, and the friend dumpling skin cause I didn't love it. Without that additional, Mie Ayam will more delicious.

There's a distinction of Mie Ayam as street with the originally Bakmi as chinese dish, While Chinese variants might use pork fat or lard, the more common Indonesian mie ayam uses halal chicken fat or vegetable oil to cater to Muslim eaters.

Even this is a street food, the seller was clean. There's a special tools that their were used so they didn't wear bared hands to processed like another street food.
