Lobster could not fascinate the girl though

This is our favorite restaurant - Michael's Kitchen and while coming from shopping the previous day, we noticed, there is a seafood festival going on. I had a long wish pending to try the Lobster and this is the only place where it is available. So we decided to go there on the daughter's day.

We decided to go a little early so that we could try out all different sea foods. We called them earlier and reserved a table, as it was Sunday. Meet Michael - the chef himself - it's his startup - he was a chef in a five star hotel but quit that and started this. We were privileged to get his attention - he suggested items for our lunch saying, he would prepare it himself for the kids.

My daughter did not like to try out any of the sea foods - she usually does not like any non-veg items - so she went for a pasta and stuffed mushroom starter. And we were busy finishing the Butter Garlic Lobster - Lobster tossed with loaded garlic and butter and side items. It was the first time we tried out Lobster and initially we thought, its the entire lobster that has flesh inside. But they made it appear fascinating and it was not quite a lot for three 😀 Everyone wanted more and I knew it, so more was on the way.

Then we tried a prawn Golgappa or Panipuri, a unique item of this place. The prawns are grilled first and then smashed and a stuff made out of it placed inside the Panipuri. And then it's served with the curd water of Pakhala or Watered-rice, another typical Odia cuisine. So they give that water in the glass and you have to put that inside the Panipuri and then eat. They make this curd water of Pakhala specially for this item. It was truly mind blowing - another first experience of its kind.

The chef had asked us to try out the soft shell crabs and that was on the order. I came to know from him, that he grows the soft shell crabs himself and its not available anywhere else. I even asked him price and he promised to give me when I need, so that we could bring a lot and prepare it ourselves. They have different varieties but we went for the traditional curry with rice served in a earthen pot.

All these items were making us more hungry - usually I would have been done with this much food - but for the taste's sake, I wanted more - even all of us. So we decided to order few more. We went for prawn curry and my son wanted a prawn noodles. The guy taking order was laughing to see us eating so much. We were already sitting there for more than couple of hours and by then all the tables were filled - so he served some complimentary knowing that it would take more time to deliver the order.

And here comes the final items - a perfect finish to the seafood fest.
