For tonight's meal, we decided to go with takeout from our favorite local food truck. Tonight's special? Oh yes...it was a Korean fried chicken sandwich. Delicious!
This sandwich included a sweet and spicy Korean sauce on the chicken; it was then loaded up with quick pickles, house coleslaw, and kimchi mayo...all of it tucked into a brioche bun. Yum.
We also ordered the Wisconsin salad. What did that include? I'm glad you asked! Cubes of cheddar cheese, a farm-fresh boiled egg, deep-rooted tomatoes, and an herb dressing. Hey, we needed some greens thanks to the last item we ordered below.
That would be Banh Mi loaded fries. This one was loaded up with daikon, cilantro, chiles, pickled carrots, and of course, marinated pork. Very heavy and good...so happy we ordered that salad to balance this meal out.
Not a bad Friday night meal. The food truck uses locally sourced proteins, vegetables, and local bakeries. It's nice to have a decent meal that supports local farmers and the local community. Now it's time for a beer or two to help wash this meal down.
Thanks for stopping and taking a look - definitely support regional food and farmers if you can! I'm sure they'll thank you, and your stomach will thank you too.
