Oh what a great lunch I just had couple of minutes ago!
It's a already 1pm here and I just can't wait longer to share it with you!
I woke up again with a lot of rain and very cold temperatures (hmmm well...for us Mauritians!) of 14-15 Degrees Celcius....we are so used to the long summer days of 32-34!!! I just pray that this August month will pass by quickly!
So I stayed in bed till late...then decided to prepare some homemade burgers! Let me show you how I made my beef burger, this may make you hungry and get some ideas/inspirations for today's lunch for you!
Ps. This gonna be a post with a lot of photos... #foodporn alert ahead!
Bon Apetit if you haven't yet have your lunch/dinner!
The patty...my style!
Simply minced beef(my wife minced it earlier for me!), salt , pepper, garlic powder, chopped onions, coriander, paprika, cumin & coriander powder and an egg!
I mixed all well together , checked the seasoning and left to sit for 30 minutes - Time to organize the other elements of my burger!
In the meantime...
I took 2 pcs of red onions and sauteed in a pan with little olive oil and butter with a branch of thyme! I let caramelized and added a touch of brown sugar and pure honey!
How you love your caramelized onion to be!?
I personally like it when it still have that little crunch...but well caramelized!
Then I cut some slices of tomato, got some lettuce leaves from my sister in law, made a 'salsa like' with tomato/gherkins/onions and made a quick homemade cocktail sauce with ketchup and mayonnaise!
And of course the burger buns and cheddar slice!
Now that nearly everything is ready...I started to make my beef patties!
First make them in small balls - I got 6 nice balls, more than enough for today's lunch.
Form the patties and we are ready to cook!
Cook depending on how each one like it to be done - My wife and Mom always eat well done, yeah...that's a shame, but everyone has a choice and we just have to respect that!
Spread the cocktail sauce
The buns were so fresh that I decided to let it like that - natural!
Place some lettuces on one side...
Then the gherkins/tomato salsa...
On the top part of the bun, I placed a cheddar slice - You can melt the cheese if you wish!
And we are ready to go...
Place our cooked burger on top of the salsa...
Then place a big spoon of caramelized onion on top of the beef burger...
Add a nice slice of tomato...
I also fried some French Fries while I was preparing for the patty and other ingredients!
And Bam...
Here's my lazy lunch of today...
Bon Apetit again friends!
I prepared 6 burgers in total and we all enjoyed it for lunch! And I just wanted to share it with you!
I hope you've enjoyed this little foodie post and I wish you a beautiful day ahead!
Now i'll get ready for work, it should be again a very calm day at my restaurant! The rain has calmed down...but it's still cloudy and little dark...and sooo cold!
A good homemade beef burger was definitely very much needed!
And what are you having for lunch my friends!?
Thank you for reading and enjoying my post!
