Dear food lovers, today is Orthodox Good Friday, fasting is emphasized today, but why are they painting Easter eggs today?
Traditionally, on Good Friday, Easter eggs are painted on Good Friday, mostly in red, which symbolizes the blood of Jesus.
Easter is the most important Christian holiday, and it expresses joy over the final victory of the Son of God over death.
Today my son and I painted and decorated eggs for Orthodox Easter together.
COOKING EGGS AND TESTING HOW FRESH THE EGGS ARE?
If you are not sure if the eggs are fresh, put eggs in cold, salted water if the egg sinks to the bottom of the bowl means it is fresh, if the egg floats on the surface it means it is not fresh.
I put the eggs I was planning to cook in a bowl with cold water, which I just salted a little. Never put eggs in hot water, cracking can occur, and cold water ensures that the eggs do not overcook and the yolks get a greenish color.
We used various colors, which dissolve in warm water, and add a large spoonful of vinegar to each glass to make the color better.
From the bowl in which the eggs are cooked, we can take a little warm water before it starts to boil and add it to each cup where you previously put the color.
Then add a spoonful of vinegar to each glass.
When the eggs have boiled for about five minutes, the colors are ready, add one egg in each cup and leave for two to three minutes so that it absorbs the color nicely.
When the eggs have dried a little, my son, who is looking forward to this great holiday and loves to share this work with me about painting and decorating eggs, is worth sticking to the favorite pictures on the eggs.
In the end, we each crossed with a little oil. I put the oil on my hands and rubbed each egg through my hands to get a shine.
Then we put all the eggs in a large basket with decorative grass.
Today was very creative in our house during this great Orthodox holiday.
