Ifumie, Chinese food is Easy to Cook

Some time ago, I made ifumie. Actually, I have never tried this food before. I just read the information on Google to try to make it. According to various information I have obtained, ifumie uses wheat-based noodles. However, nowadays, many noodle soups are made using wheat flour. But, for me it doesn't matter. Using noodles made from wheat flour or wheat.

In some of the information I can tell, ifumie is a bird's nest doused in a thick gravy topped with vegetables, shrimp and meat. From the food I made, I really enjoyed ifumie because the dry noodles doused with thick gravy became a sensation in itself. As the sauce soaks into the small noodles, the flavor of the noodles becomes elastic. I think this is one of the best food for lunch.

Using Wheat Based Noodles

Before I explain the recipe and how to cook ifumie, I want to tell you a little about this Ifumie. Do you want to know ifumie's story? Before I made this dish, I only knew that this food came from China. From the information I got, if noodles or noodles were first consumed in 206 BC during the Han reign. In ancient times, these noodles were made from wheat.

The shape of the noodles at that time, was not what it is now. At that time, noodles were still square and long sheets. In fact, the shape of the noodles at that time was slightly thicker than the dumpling skin. How to cook this noodle is very simple. The dough that is already in the form of noodles is dipped in boiling water. Then removed and eaten with a sauce seasoned with special spices.

Noodles Have A Meaningful for Chinese People

As the way of serving noodles develops, it develops in various variations. So far, we know that the Chinese community is very interested in symbolization. Well, noodles or noodles in China have a special meaning, which means longevity, simplicity and windfall. In fact, noodles are often served as a substitute for a birthday cake. With the hope of a long life and abundant fortune.

With this in mind, it is not surprising that some Chinese people in Indonesia make noodles a mandatory food in a number of important celebrations. Like in the new year or birthday. Furthermore, Chinese people believe that eating noodles should not be cut off. If it breaks, it becomes an indication of not living long, the loss of good and positive things, and bringing bad luck to noodle eaters.

Dry Noodles Were symbolized by Perseverance

Then, what about the meaning of Ifumie? Ifumie uses dry noodles in the shape of a swallow's nest. So, what does this have to do with bird's nest? At first, I mentioned that the Chinese are very fond of symbolism. This swallow's nest is a symbol of perseverance, hard work and a place to live. This is what the Chinese people believe.

This is similar to the behavior of birds that build their nests diligently. One by one the birds arranged the twigs to form. It is designed to provide a comfortable and safe shelter for their children who are not yet able to fly.

People in China liken bird's nest to their country. Where children are raised to be independent and able to explore the world. The Chinese concept of traveling around the world is known as the Great Chinese concept. In addition to additional ingredients, the dry noodles in the ifumie are symbolized as prosperity.

Ifumie as a Symbol of The Process of Becoming a Prosperous Country

And the presentation of ifumie has its own meaning which represents the process of becoming a prosperous country. The dry noodles used symbolize the poor and dry country of China. Then, on top of the dry noodles are given vegetables, meat, and shrimp doused with thick gravy. This makes the noodles a bit mushy, symbolizing the hard work of the Chinese people. Beneficial for the country to be developed and prosperous. This is like the expectations of the Chinese people.

The ingredients Used

1#. chicory, I used 3 large pieces

2#. young corn, I used 3 pieces

3#. Carrots, I use 4 medium size pieces

4#. Meatballs, I use 4 small pieces.

5#. mushroom broth

6# noodle

7#. oyster sauce

8#. soy sauce

9#. Cornstarch, to taste

How to Cook

1#. Wash all the ingredients to be cooked. After that cut into small pieces.

2#. Boil the noodles that will be used first. don't boil too long. after that drain and fry the noodles like a bird's nest.

3#. Heat a frying pan and add a little canola oil. Add chopped onion and garlic. Saute until fragrant. After that add the meatballs, wait a minute

4#. After a bit cooked. Add carrots and corn. Wait 10 minutes until the carrots and corn look slightly wilted and add the chicory. Wait until all the vegetables are wilted. And add a little water

5#. Don't forget to add the existing seasonings, mushroom broth, soy sauce and oyster sauce.

6#. Enter the cornstarch that has been added to the water. Add to the cooked vegetables. stir everything and wait a minute.

7#. prepare noodles that have been fried dry like a bird's nest. then, add, cooked vegetables and meatballs.

8#. ready-to-eat food. You can use whatever ingredients you have to make this dish.
