From a twig to a beautiful cup of tea!

One beautiful word - TEA. Different countries have different names for it. Somewhere "shai" and somewhere else "cha". It is a fragrant little green leaf of a plant. Plenty of tea plants are cultivated in hilly areas, as it is easy to produce a lot of tea in lands where water does not accumulate. Tea cultivation is good in places where it rains a lot.

Why is it so special to me? My hometown is known for its tea cultivation. Endless green fields filled with tea plants for as far as you can see. My hometown provides tea both locally and internationally. Some landowners have doubled down and transformed their tea fields into holiday spots with cottages too.

Beautiful field of tea plants

Two leaves on a twig are collected, usually by hand. The plant is trimmed all the time. That is why farmers can stand and easily pluck the young leaves. Every two months the young leaves are collected from the plant. The collected tea leaves are left in the open and dried under the sun. When the dried leaves are soft, the leaves are crushed and kept in a damp warehouse. In this process the aroma of tea increases. Later in a special process the leaves are crushed and readied to be marketed.

Nowadays a new form of tea is the most popular - green tea. Its process is different. Now, this tea powder is available in open form and it is also available in small packs in forms of teabags. You can drink green tea only if you leave the leaves in hot water for some time. There are cold green tea drinks, but they do not really reflect the best parts of green tea. Doctors say that this tea is beneficial for the body. Those who want to reduce body fat can drink this tea as well for blood pressure and so on.

In hot water, the dried powdered leaves are mixed in small quantities, and after a few moments of simmering, the drink turns red and milk and sugar are mixed with it to make a strong tea. Thin red tea without milk is called Sulemani tea. This tea is also drunk in most Arabic countries. Nowadays, "masala" tea is being made by mixing different spices to milk tea (which is basically tea dipped in milk). Colds and coughs can be relieved by drinking ginger with tea.

Tea packs are available in different flavors in the market. Strawberry tea, Cinnamon Orange tea, Cardamom tea, Banana tea, Lemon tea etc. are available in different. You can drink tea as per your choice, whatever stimulates your taste buds. Cinnamon tea is a beneficial tea for diabetics, that is what I drink.

Just as tea refreshes the body and mind, drinking excess tea does not bring benefits to the body. It is not good to drink tea on an empty stomach. Gastritis, hypertension, insomnia are few of many diseases you can suffer from if you drink too much tea. Tea-drinking should not be turned into an addiction.

In China, tea is considered a vegan power. Tea is the most popular drink in Bangladesh for entertaining guests. So lets keep it at that, an enjoyable break time drink.
