My mother was known in our place as a maker of the delicious foods for snacks such as poto cheese, poto kutchinta, pancake and tapioca.
I remember when my siblings and I were just a kid, she already made that foods and we helped her in the kitchen.
After she cooked, we sell it door to door in our village. Though I was shy back then but I still follow what my mother asked me.
Hey Hivers!
Yesterday, I planned of making Tapioca for our dessert and yeah I made it this morning. Tapioca or Tapioca Pearl is made up from cassava starch.
My mother taught me on how to make dessert using Tapioca. We called this dessert Tapioca or Mango Tango. So here's my mother's recipe of Tapioca for dessert.
We will cook first the tapioca.
Boil water using a casserole, adjust the amount of water base on the amount of the tapioca you will be cooking.
Once it is already boiling, slowly add the tapioca and while adding just keep stirring to avoid the tapioca getting stick each other.
If you will see like the pictures below, it means the tapioca is already cooked.
In making tapioca for dessert we also add gelatin.
Pour the casserole with 3 cups of water.
Add 1 pack of gelatin, while adding just keep stirring.
Heat the casserole in a low flame
Cook it in 10 minutes and keep stirring.
Once cooked, transfer it in a container. Leave it for a while until it gets cold.
Sliced it into tiny pieces.
1/4 Tapioca
1 sachet of gelatin
1 big ripe mango
1 big condense milk
1 Nestle Cream
Slice the ripe mango into a tiny cubes
Nestle Cream
Condense Milk
Place the cooked tapioca in a container
Add the nestle cream and condense milk
Add the sliced ripe mango
Add the gelatin
Mix all ingredients thoroughly
It is more delicious when it is cold so before consuming refrigerate it
Everytime we have occassions at home my mother will always incorporate this on her list of the desserts.
Aside from being cheap, it is also delicious. Actually, our visitors at home like the tapioca dessert. We love that too.
Have you already tried this food? How was it?
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
