Lunch at Umaya

On Saturday, we had lunch at Umaya Japanese Restaurant together with my mom, my niece Aiesha and Jonalyn, of course, my husband and baby were there too.

It was not planned but Matti had his chickenpox vaccination, first dose and after visiting the pedia, we were hungry. My husband asked me to search for a good place to dine in and upon looking at the search results, I spotted a Japanese restaurant instead.

We were welcomed by the crew, who showed us to one of their rooms and we chose this one which is separated from the open space. The restaurant smells good but it was not spacious enough for those who have toddlers like us.

Since we were still waiting for our companions, we had their complimentary tea and just explored the place first while also waiting for our orders.

Here are some of the photos of the restaurant:

Looking up, Umaya means stable.

The restaurant is not too big but they had maximized every corner to be used for tables and accommodating their guests.

After a short waiting time, our orders had arrived, they were not served at once, they were served one by one which we didn't mind though!

I believe this one was Chicken Karaage with some coleslaw salad on the side.

The matcha shake was my husband's request.

My favorite California Maki. I didn't get to try it with the wasabi paste because I was so busy attending to my baby who was having a tantrum.

The space at our table was so narrow that breastfeeding Matti was so hard. I had to find the best position facing the wall so he could latch. It was the worst part of dining in here. It only took a few minutes though.

This was our Shoyu ramen. My husband already stirred it.

This was the chicken katsu with rice. It's just breaded chicken breast cutlet.

Gyoza is another favorite of mine.

This one was the Tonkatsu which is just breaded pork loin cutlet with rice as well and a salad on the side.

We finished eating in just a few minutes. The crew were able to take a photo of us and posted it on their social media page too!
