YAHAY FOOD PARK | CEB PH

Hey guys! Wrote a short blog about our food tripping right after we went to the theme park with my co-workers. Maybe you'd consider visiting this place when you're within the area of Talisay, Cebu.

HAYAHAY in Cebuano means airy (adj.); comfortable (adj.); refreshing (adj.) (source: Binisaya.com). YAHAY is a shortened word of Hayahay. Filipinos love to make words shorter and make words up.

πŸ‘‰This food park is located at Talisay City in the South of Cebu. It is approximately 2 hours of travel using a car from Mactan International Airport, 1 hour away from the city and just 6 minutes away from Anjo World Theme Park (check my Anjo World blog here: @chillwithshanna/come-carnival-with-us-or-ceb-ph).
So if you are still coming from Lapu-Lapu, I suggest that you should plan your day when you want to visit Yahay Food Park and drop by Anjo World or SM Seaside (One of the biggest malls in Asia) as well to make the most of your travel.

It is fairly new as it opened last October of 2019, then COVID happened and they reopened again. They are currently open daily Monday to Sundays from 12 noon until 9pm.

What to expect:
πŸ‘ It is a huge and spacious food park with Filipino motif of outdoor dining.
πŸ‘ You'd see that a lot of their furniture was made of bamboo, gives you a chill island vibe.
πŸ‘ Food stalls offering different cuisine such as Japanese, Korean, but mostly Filipino. Ofcourse,
the popular delicious Lechon (Roasted pig) would always be on the menu.
πŸ‘ Affordable food and drinks
πŸ‘ Live band, acoustic sessions. There is also open mic so if you can sing, then you can have the
spotlight to showcase your talent.
πŸ‘ Raffle games where you can win a Motorcycle! (The raffle prize when I visited last month.)
πŸ‘ Friendly and accommodating staff

We ordered Filipino food such as Lechon, Pork Sisig, Deep Fried Chicken and Grilled Scallops. All were so good!!! Made me eat 2 cups of rice. πŸ˜‹ After dinner, we had some beer, chitchatting with my co-workers and listening to the band. Some drunk men were already enjoying the music and dancing like they own the dancefloor.

So there's an elevated area, like a second floor for more tables to dine. It doesn't have a roof so you can really see the starry nights. It has beautiful lights and lots of coconut trees. But during this night, no one sat here since they closed it for renovation. I only asked permission to come up and take a picture for the blog haha.

All of the restaurants here or famous brands (Thirsty, Chixboy, House of Lechon, Sushi Boy, Wok Bai etc.) are owned by the Pages Holdings Inc. which is one of the biggest enterprise in Cebu. The owner, Bunny Pages, is influential and one of Cebu's most successful entrepreneurs. You'd see a lot of their brands when you visit Cebu.

That's all for this chika and tambay (chika: "chitchat" ; tambay: "hang out").
I'mma see you again on our next laag "roam around". Keep safe!
