Dubai Mall's Never Ending Meatrun at Texas de Brazil

When you visit the Dubai Mall make sure you try and dine at Texas de Brazil. It is an experience by itself. Now, there are plenty of other restaurants in the mall that have some or the other peculiarity. But Texas dr Brazil was one of the best dining experiences I had. Most credit goes to the company I was with.

The outside dining area overlooks the dancing fountain and the Burj Khalifa. Albeit it might be one the best scenes to dine at from the ground floor, it may be better to take the seats right next to the kitchen. That is how you get the freshest cuts right off the grill.

This is the salad bar. In a buffet style, you pick your plate and go along the bar and the servers help you pile your plate up with the salads of your choice. I think pre-covid you would have picked them yourselves. If there is something you love missing from the bar, the servers will make sure they grab it from the kitchen.

I was served by the floor manager. He was nice enough to give our group a complete rundown of the day's menu and what we could order on to get cooked directly in the kitchen and onto our plates. Most of my company were officials from the internal affairs, so we were given the table next to the kitchen.

On a busy day, the restaurant is pretty packed. You will either have to book a table well in advance or you will be put on a waiting list that goes well over an hour. Initially, we were put on the waiting list. I have no clue what happened, but one of the boys went and spoke to the manager and minutes later a table for 8 was free and ready to be served.

You get a coin when you sit, one face is red and the other is green colored. You start with the salads and drinks if you would like and the coin would placed with the red side up. Once you are ready for the meat, you turn and make the green side face upwards. Then the servers bring along different kinds of meat prepared in different ways and serve you until your turn the coin red again. Cool, isn't it?

The place was extremely packed the day we went there. I watched the cooks work there magic and Samuel (in picture) and I became close window buddies. I pointed at what I wanted and he would happily ask a server to specifically do double rounds of that sort of meat at our table.

The servers come around with freshly grilled/cooked meat in the very steaks they have been made and look for the green coins. If they spot a green coin they will come and ask you if want this specific cut and grill. Then they slice the meat in front of you and you place it on your plate to eat.

My favorite in the salad bar was the shrimp soup and the potato mash. I don't think I have tasted a better shrimp soup anywhere else in the entire UAE. Most of the shrimp soups become too powerful. This one was smooth and soft on the tongue. They also had roasted banana which went really well with the meatrun. I might have gone easy with the salads since I was more eager for the meat.

It was a great dining experience. The kitchen side table was a huge plus. We saw the cooks concoct this amazing array of food. The company was excellent.

The meal for the 8 of us costed somewhere around $680 that is including the desserts and drinks. For desserts, a server walks to the table with a mock up of the menu. You can then pick and choose what you like and they will prepare it fresh to serve. I thought that was a nice way of doing it.
