Grilled Chicken Rice With Basil Leaves Recipe. Sundanesse Traditional Food

Indonesia has a lot of diversity from sabang to merauke. Not only the customs, the food is also very diverse in every area. This gives me the passion to explore every cuisine that I'm gonna make recipe #foodiesbeehive

This time I want to share a recipe of different foods, such as Grilled Chicken Rice Geprek Basil.

Grilled Rice is a food that comes from sundanesse area. Processed rice is wrapped with banana leaves and burned on embers. But this time we make it more simple that is to use the oven.

As the name suggests, these foods make the booster when I lack of appetite. Moreover, lately the weather again unfriendly, morning rain, afternoon is very hot, make us easy pain and no appetite.

The ingredients used is very easy to find, just need the ingredients are there in refrigerator.

Ingredients required:

  • 500gr Chicken (cleaned)
  • Red pepper
  • Shallots
  • Tomatoes
  • Basil
  • Kecombrang
  • Lime
  • Salt and sugar
  • Tamarind
  • Oil for frying

How to cook Grilled Chicken Rice Geprek Basil:

  • Wash chicken and then marinated with salt and lime.
  • Heat the oil in a frying pan, then fry the chicken until browned. Drain and as rough.

  • Puree the red pepper, shallots and tomatoes.

  • Sliced kecombrang

  • Heat a little oil, then sauté the red pepper that has been mashed. Pinch salt, sugar and tamarind. Cook until cooked perfect. Correct the taste.

  • Enter kecombrang and chicken already in the geprek. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • Clean the banana leaves and the rack for a minute so slightly wilted.
  • Plating rice a banana leaf, then give chicken geprek and basil over rice, insulate it with banana leaves and locks with a toothpick.

  • Preheat the oven to a temperature of 150 C, and then burn the rice is already in wrapped with banana leaves for 15 minutes.
