Sharing a good laugh with others is really fun, but what most persons are not aware of is that, laughter is very good for our health. Laughter is indeed the best medicine, it does not only draw people together but it also provides healthy physical and emotional changes that are beneficial to the body. It is very easy for us to laugh when we are kids , we laugh a lot then, but it's so difficult to share some laugh as adults because of how life present itself.

It's so amazing how laughter heals so quickly, few minutes ago someone can be very angry but say something funny and the whole place is lively again. Laughter helps our immune system, it boosts our mood whenever we are down, and it always free our mind of the stress we are passing through. Laughter works well and fast too, it helps you get your body and mind back to the point where you feel enough balance. When you have enough laugh, you notice how light you feel inside because your mind is free, when we laugh, hope is inspired in us, that's a way of telling ourselves it's going to be alright. And most importantly, it free you from you angry state and gives you a reason to forgive.

In today's post, I will be focusing on the physical health benefits of laughter, there are many benefits you can get from laughing, but for this contest, I would love to focus my attention on three core benefits, which happen to be the physical, mental and the social benefits of laughter. But for today's post, I will share my thoughts on the physical benefits of laughter. This is my first entry to this beautiful contest created by Natural Medicine Community. The contest is about laughter and I told myself it's something I would love to participate in because this is something I enjoy doing, since I understand it's benefits, I enjoy laughing and also try my best to lift the mood of others. I'm inviting @merit.ahama to participate in this contest, please read the guidelines of the contest HERE. So, let us look at some of the physical health benefits you get when you laugh, I employ every single one of you to please share some laughs today. Wait... go back and read the part I said you should share some laugh and actually laugh πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, this is my guideline for reading this post, anytime you see laugh or laughter or any term relating to you laughing, please laugh, at the end of the post count how many time you did share a smile and share with me in the comment section how you feel after following this guideline of this post. Are you ready to know some of the physical health benefits of laughter? (Go back, you just past laughter, you were suppose to laugh πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, you really think you can skip this guideline right? Laugh again πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚).

PHYSICAL HEALTH BENEFITS OF LAUGHTER πŸ˜‚

πŸ˜‚ One of the ways laughter has proved to be beneficial to our health is, it helps to relax our whole body. When you share a good laugh it helps free you from physical stress and tension, when this happens your body muscles feel really relax for a while. Imagine laughing for a laugh percent of the day, you will noticed how free you are and will be very relax.

πŸ˜‚ When you laugh, you have no idea that you are actually protecting your heart. Laughter helps protect the heart, it improves the functionality of the blood vessels in return it increases the flow of blood in the body, and this single act will help protect your heart against heart attack or any other heart related problems. Well, there will be nothing to laugh about anymore when we are dead right? How about we laugh now so our heart can continue to beat in other for us to be able to laugh even more?

πŸ˜‚ When you laugh, you feel good inside right? This doesn't just happen, it's not just any feeling, what happen is that, whenever we laugh, it triggers a part of us that releases a natural chemical that makes us feel good inside. When we laugh, endorphins is released. Endorphins is a natural chemical produced by the nervous system to cope with pain and stress. They have the power to relieve pain and stress and it helps promote our well being. You can read more about Endorphins here to understand more of its effects and how to increase the levels. I don't know about you, but I like feeling good inside, hence I laugh a lot to release more Endorphins in my system because it's the feel-good chemical.

Wait! Do you know that, it's very difficult to use the tip of your tongue to touch the tip of your nose? I got you there, you just pause for a split second to try that out right?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Hope that got you smiling and laughing for a while?☺️☺️

πŸ˜‚ Another important benefit of laughter is that, it free you from being angry. Nothing makes anger vanish so quickly like you sharing some laugh. I always try to see the funny side of every situation or problem that I find myself, and this help me change the perspective of things and it lighten my mood, instead of frowning about the problem and just getting angry I laugh about it. A recent event (just yesterday) happened to me in class with my students, one of my student who enjoys having fun by disturbing his classmates, was actually disturbing one of my favourite students, being the good father (that's what my class student call me, I'm their dad and they are my children) that I am, I ran with speed after him to prevent him from disturbing the young lady that was reading, in the process I grab the wrong place of the door while trying to balance myself so I don fall, and I received a very deep cut on my palm. When everyone were saying sorry because I was bleeding, I quickly change the whole story by faking I was bleeding to death and making funny faces, and everybody started laughing. Even when they brought the first aid box to treat the wound, I made everyone laugh by faking tears in my baby voice. Even though I was in pain and should be angry about the cut, I converted it to a beautiful situation instead and everyone had fun. I remembered when I said they should bring a stretcher to rush me to the hospital, and everyone laughed and said, for just a slight cut I am asking for a stretcher. It was really fun.

The above image is the cut I received yesterday, but I didn't allow it change my mood in anyway. I took this shoot yesterday after work while I was working on my new piece.

πŸ˜‚ If you want to live long enough just be happy and laugh more. What I'm trying to say is that, laughter may help you live longer. When you laugh, you reduce your stress level, and the less stressful you are, the more relaxed you will become, and that is needed for healthy living. Persons with enough humour are likely to outlive those that are not always happy, don't get me wrong, that does not mean that some happy people don't die quick, we've witness the most happy set of humans die early. But then, chances of living very long is high because you have a balanced health, and having humour can make that balance continue.

Do you know that, the word KWEZICHIDEILOVEHIVEALOT is a word I just made up? And because you could not pronounce the word you skipped it and just went on reading, and because of that you missed the part of that word that says I LOVE HIVE A LOT, now you just went back to check the word again to confirm if I really said I LOVE HIVE A LOT. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I got you there πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, learn to laugh, it's okay to be happy, free yourself from the stress of life by laughing, that's the only way to gain some of the physical health benefits from laughing. Laughter is indeed the best medicine. In the next post, I will talk about the mental benefits but for today, I want to encourage you to laugh a lot so you can experience some of the physical health benefits. Share some of the physical health benefits with me in the comment section and did you actually follow the guideline of reading this post till the end? If you do, please tell me how you feel in the comment.
