Hola amigos, un saludo para todos, esta es mi primera publicación en esta comunidad. Es un gusto saber que existe este espacio para expresar nuestras ideas con relación a la mente y el ser. Mucho se ha dicho acerca de la mente, del equilibrio espiritual y como enfrentamos los desafíos y de qué manera nos enfentamos al futuro que siempre nos va a resultar un destino incierto.
Hello friends, greetings to all, this is my first post in this community. It is a pleasure to know that this space exists to express our ideas in relation to the mind and the being. Much has been said about the mind, spiritual balance and how we face challenges and how we face the future that will always be an uncertain destiny.
En mi época de profesor muchas veces me tocó conversar con mis estudiantes acerca de la mente, de la valoración que le damos al ingenio humano a tavés del arte y la literatura, y como estas disciplinas de la expresión humana encierran grandes enseñanzas para nosotros. Todos estos aspectos funcionan para nosotros como metáforas, un recurso que nuestro lenguaje nos permite poseer para entender y desarrollar grandes pensamientos e ideas. Una de esas metáforas es la eterna lucha del bien contra el mal, de lo natural contra lo racional, particularmente me inclino más por esta última opción, creo que a través de ella es como hemos evolucionado como especie y cultura.
In my time as a teacher, many times I had to talk with my students about the mind, about the value we give to human ingenuity through art and literature, and how these disciplines of human expression hold great teachings for us. All these aspects work for us as metaphors, a resource that our language allows us to have to understand and develop great thoughts and ideas. One of those metaphors is the eternal struggle of good against evil, of the natural against the rational, I am particularly inclined more towards this last option, I believe that it is through it that we have evolved as a species and culture..
El filósofo griego Heráclito se le ha atribuido una frase que dice: "Nadie se baña en el mismo río dos veces". Esto me sucedió a mi al ver la primera vez Intestellar de Christopher Nolan, en el estreno me dejé llevar por lo obvio, la fotografía, la banda sonora, las actuaciones y hasta la trama. Sin embargo, muchos años después he comprendido muchas cosas de este film, porque realmente es un símbolo, les invito a buscar la etimología de la palabra símbolo y sabrán a lo que me refiero. Esta película resultó ser para mi una joya sobre la mente humana al entender que los personajes representan la mente humana resolviendo el desafío más grande de sus vidas: La supervivencia.

This happened to me when I saw the first time Intestellar by Christopher Nolan, at the premiere I got carried away by the obvious, the photography, the soundtrack, the performances and even the plot. However, many years later I have understood many things about this film, because it really is a symbol, I invite you to look for the etymology of the word symbol and you will know what I mean. This movie turned out to be for me a jewel about the human mind as I understood that the characters represent the human mind solving the greatest challenge of their lives: Survival.
La primera vez pensé que Interstellar era el drama de un padre que se separa de sus hijos, y en cierta forma lo es, pero esta premisa se vuelve más profunda cuando entendemos que el protagonista representa el héroe de las mil caras de Joseph Campbell, esta idea salida de la mitología comparada nos habla de la función social del héroe, la identificación de la comunidad con el héroe y la resolución de un gran conflicto. Cooper, el protagonista cumple este rol al ser el candidato perfecto, el elegido para buscar el nuevo hogar de la humanidad, sacrificarse al entrar a un agujero negro y obtener lo que ningun humano ha logrado jamás, el santo grial de las leyes físicas, manipular la gravedad para poder abandonar la moribunda tierra a un nuevo planeta y regresar con vida .

Dentro de la temática del desarrollo de los personajes todos son importantes, pero de la historia me llaman la atención 2 a parte del protagonista. El primero de ellos es la doctora Brand, una mujer brillante y muy valiente, quien representa en esta historia a nuestra Tierra, los valores de la protección, la vida y las emociones.
Within the theme of the development of the characters, all are important, but the story draws my attention 2 apart from the protagonist. The first of them is Dr. Brand, a brilliant and very brave woman, who in this story represents our Earth, the values of protection, life and emotions.
Ella representa el motivo por el cual Cooper abandonó la tierra en su viaje: el amor por sus hijos y poder salvar a la raza humana. Si bien, él es el presonaje central, su personalidad y lo que representa se complementa con la doctora, Cooper representa la Razón, y se complementa con la Emocion que representa la doctora Brand. Ella comete errores que atrasan los planes originales pero los errores que comete los hace por la misión, por alcanzar el objetivo, y lo mas hermoso de su personalidad es su discurso sobre el amor. Cuando estan conversando de la teoría de Einstein, de fórmulas físicas y matemáticas, ella asoma la posibilidad de que el amor sea una fuerza tan poderosa como la gravedad, y que el amor traspasa el tiempo y el espacio. Yo elijo creerlo así, y al contemplar la película hasta el final pienso que ella representa el camino, aunque tengamos la razón y lo sepamos todo, nunca debemos dejar de sentir y amar profundamente lo que hacemos y en lo que creemos.
She represents the reason Cooper left earth on his journey: love for his children and being able to save the human race. Although he is the central character, his personality and what he represents is complemented by the doctor, Cooper represents Reason, and is complemented by the Emotion that Dr. Brand represents. She makes mistakes that delay the original plans but the mistakes she makes are made for the mission, to achieve the goal, and the most beautiful thing about her personality is her speech about love. When they are talking about Einstein's theory, about physical and mathematical formulas, she raises the possibility that love is a force as powerful as gravity, and that love transcends time and space. I choose to believe it that way, and as I watch the film to the end I think that it represents the way, even if we are right and we know everything, we must never stop feeling and loving deeply what we do and what we believe in.
Cada minuto que pasaba sumergido en la historia y los diálogos del film no hacía más que ver la teoría del cerebro triuno. En realidad la película es la mente trabajando en armonía con todos sus aspectos natuales para resolver un gran problema y crecer y evolucionar para mejorar. En la película se nos cuenta que fueron los humanos del futuro quienes ayudaron a los humanos del presente para poder hacer ese viaje, ya que pudieron evolucionar hasta manipular el tiempo y el espacio. Pero siempre me llamó la atención como fue que evolucionaron tanto, luego de encontrarse al borde de la extinción total? Y funcionaría para nosotros? entender como lo hicieron y aplicarlo a nuestra vida real? Para descubrirlo debemos analizar a otro persojane, la otra cara, otra parte de nuestro cerebro y que nos acompaña desde los inicios de la humanidad.
Every minute that passed immersed in the story and the dialogues of the film did nothing but see the theory of the triune brain. Actually the movie is the mind working in harmony with all its natural aspects to solve a big problem and grow and evolve for the better. In the film we are told that it was the humans of the future who helped the humans of the present to be able to make that trip, since they could evolve to manipulate time and space. But it always caught my attention, how did they evolve so much, after finding themselves on the brink of total extinction? And would it work for us? understand how they did it and apply it to our real life? To discover it, we must analyze another person, the other face, another part of our brain and who has accompanied us since the beginning of humanity.
La otra cara de la mente en esta historia es EL doctor Mann, el personaje que representa todo en la humanidad, egoísmo, soberbia, falso heroísmo y la fatalidad. En el desarrollo de la película se habla muy bien de él, fue quien llevó a cabo las primeras misiones y quien sirvió de inspiración al resto de científicos para buscar una esparanza en el espacio exterior. Es dificl catalogarlo como villano o malo, creo que simplemente es, sin embargo es u ancla poderoso en la historia, tal como esa parte instintiva de nuestra mente.
The other side of the mind in this story is Dr. Mann, the character who represents everything in humanity, selfishness, pride, false heroism and doom. In the development of the film, he is spoken highly of, he was the one who carried out the first missions and who served as inspiration to the rest of the scientists to search for hope in outer space. It is difficult to classify him as a villain or bad, I think he simply is, however he is a powerful anchor in the story, just like that instinctive part of our mind.
Si la doctora Brand representa el instinto vital a travéz de nuestros lazos emocionales el Doctor Mann representra el instinto de supervivencia a través de los medios que la naturaleza ha puesto a nuestro alcance, hasta la violencia. No en vano su apellido es Mann, es decir, el hombre. En su discurso le dice a Cooper que el hizo todo lo que hizo por la supervivencia, le dice que es el sentimiento mas fuerte al que podemos acceder cuando deseamos lograr algo, el doctor Mann piensa que la humanidad debe alcanzar su objetivo a costa de lo que sea, de hecho su plan es colonizar un nuevo planeta con embriones y él como el conductor y guía de la nueva humanidad, condenando al resto de los humanos a morir de hambre en la tierra. Nunca se asume como malo, todo lo que hace lo hace por considerarlo un bien superior, es como un escorpión, quien pica con su veneno porque es su naturaleza, no porque sea malvado. Es entonces nuestro cerebro primigenio, el cerebro llamado reptil, por almacenar nuestros instintos mas puros y profundos de supervivencia.
If Dr. Brand represents the vital instinct through our emotional ties, Dr. Mann represents the survival instinct through the means that nature has placed within our reach, even violence. Not in vain his last name is Mann, that is, the man. In his speech he tells Cooper that he did everything he did for survival, he tells him that it is the strongest feeling that we can access when we want to achieve something, Dr. Mann thinks that humanity must achieve its goal at the cost of what whatever, in fact his plan is to colonize a new planet with embryos and he as the driver and guide of the new humanity, condemning the rest of the humans to starve on earth. It is never assumed to be bad, everything it does is considered a superior good, it is like a scorpion, which stings with its poison because it is its nature, not because it is evil. It is then our original brain, the brain called reptile, for storing our purest and deepest instincts for survival.
Si se animan a ver la película preten mucha atención al discurso del doctor Mann.. Es la humanidad justificando sus errores, es la civilización avanzando a costa de su propia destrucción, es la prueba viviente del porque el mundo de Cooper esta condenado y por qué están buscando un nuevo destino. En una escena de la película el ataca a Cooper porque quiere apoderarse de la nave y completar la misión, y siempre me pareció gracioso como pelean, pero es que así somos los humanos, cuando estamos atascados en la vida preferimos culpar a los demás de nuestros propios errores en lugar de cooperar para resolverlos. Es irónico como el doctor Mann dice que la humanidad ha llegado hasta ahí porque pudo trabajar unida dejando sus diferencias, pero él es incapaz de trabajar en armonía con las otras personas y llega al extremo de agredir y causar la muerte a costa de sobrevivir.. No es eso muy humano?
If you dare to see the film, pay close attention to Dr. Mann's speech .. It is humanity justifying its mistakes, it is civilization advancing at the cost of its own destruction, it is living proof of why Cooper's world is doomed and why they are looking for a new destination. In a scene from the movie he attacks Cooper because he wants to take over the ship and complete the mission, and I always found it funny how they fight, but that's how we humans are, when we are stuck in life we prefer to blame others for our own mistakes rather than cooperating to resolve them. It is ironic how Dr. Mann says that humanity has come this far because it was able to work together leaving its differences, but he is unable to work in harmony with other people and goes to the extreme of attacking and causing death at the cost of survival. Isn't that very human?
Como era de esperarse, el destino del Doctor Mann fue la muerte y destruir casi toda la misión, es que lo que comienza mal termina mal, justo como la ley de Murphy. Entonces es facil concluir que la humanidad evolucionó por el camino de la doctora Brand en concordancia con Cooper. La razón y el amor nos ayudarán a crecer en nuestro camino hacia las metas que nos propongamos, es la empatía y no el egoísmo, es la humildad y no la soberbia. No importa si estamos al borde del precipicio de nuestras vidas y pensemos que no tenemos salida, podemos como Cooper volver de un agujero negro más sabios y con el conocimiento necesarios para ayudarnos y ayudar a otros.
As expected, the fate of Doctor Mann was death and destroy almost the entire mission, is that what starts badly ends badly, just like Murphy's law. So it is easy to conclude that humanity evolved along the path of Dr. Brand in accordance with Cooper. Reason and love will help us grow on our way to the goals we set for ourselves, it is empathy and not selfishness, it is humility and not pride. Interstellar como el buen cine representan para mi un gran conocimiento, en el cine no busco entretenimiento, esa palabra es peligrosa y perniciosa. En el buen cine busco sabiduría, como también en el arte, la literatura, la música y la poesía. Busco luz en las sombras para ayudar mi a mi espiritu y el de otros. Nuestra mente es un gran tesoro, y viajar dentro de ellas es ir hacia el espacio exterior. No debemos mentirnos a nosotros mismos pensando que seremos buenos, debemos reconocer que ambas realidades habitan en nuestra mente y en medio estamos nosotros, tal como Cooper, cometeremos errores pero si nos guiamos por el camino correcto regresaremos victoriosos de cualquier hoyo negro. Interstellar es un gran símbolo, y como todo símbolo tiene un lenguaje propio que debe comprenderse. Nos ayudará a expandir nuestra mente y fortalecer el espiritu cuando lo comprendamos y sea parte de nuetro cuerpo y nuestra piel
Interstellar as good cinema represents a great knowledge for me, in cinema I do not seek entertainment, that word is dangerous and pernicious. In good cinema I look for wisdom, as well as in art, literature, music and poetry. I look for light in the shadows to help my spirit and that of others. Our mind is a great treasure, and to travel within them is to go into outer space. We must not lie to ourselves thinking that we will be good, we must recognize that both realities inhabit our mind and we are in the middle, just like Cooper, we will make mistakes but if we guide ourselves on the right path we will return victorious from any black hole. Interstellar is a great symbol, and like any symbol it has its own language that must be understood. It will help us to expand our mind and strengthen the spirit when we understand it and it is part of our body and our skin.
Aquí podemos observar una imagen sencilla del Cerebro Triuno y sus partes. Esa es la máquina que resulve nuestra vida, usarla con espiritualidad nos llevará por los mejores senderos y evolucionaremos a nuevos destinos. Así como Interstellar nos presenta a Cooper, la Doctora Brand y el Doctor Mann trabajando por el mismo propósito cada un de ellos representando algo de nosotros, algo humano, demadiado humano como diría Friedrich Nietzsche.
Here we can see a simple image of the Triune Brain and its parts. That is the machine that our life turns out, using it spiritually will take us along the best paths and we will evolve to new destinations. Just as Interstellar presents us with Cooper, Doctor Brand and Doctor Mann working for the same purpose, each of them representing something of us, something human, too human as Friedrich Nietzsche would say.
