Lupis for Breakfast. Recipe, Tips and Trick from Wita’s Kitchen.

Hello foodies..
Once a week i never share the recipe, because I was a lot of work won't let me get creative in the kitchen, to finally be writing a recipe that might help you and add to our knowledge in cooking.

Today I want to share the recipe usually be a breakfast dish in Indonesia, especially for those of you who like to buy without the hassle of serving breakfast.

This is a recipe and tips to make a ‘Lupis’
Lupis is a food made from glutinous rice wrapped by banana leaves, coating by young coconut and doused with palm sugar liquid.

The ingredients of Lupis:

  • Banana leaf
  • Glutinous rice
  • Toothpick
  • Water
  • Grated coconut
  • Palm sugar
  • Salt
  • Kemiri

Here's how to make lupis:

  • Clean the banana leaves with a damp cloth, cut into small strips.

  • Wash the glutinous rice until it is clean

  • Take 1 strands banana leaves and then form into a triangle, enter the glutinous rice and fold into a triangle and seal with a toothpick.

  • Enter lupis and water into a large steamer, cook for 4 hours. Check periodically, if water shrinkage, add water until the lupis sink.

  • Wait until the cold water, remove and drain.
  • Boil water and palm sugar, add pecans to palm sugar condensed.

  • Strain the palm sugar and set aside.
  • Give a little bit of salt on the grated coconut, coating lupis with grated coconut, and place on a plate.

  • Flush lupis with liquid palm sugar.

  • Lupis ready to be served.

In Indonesia, lupis this to be one of the favorite food for the breakfast menu. Because it can be an alternative to breakfast menu when you run out of ideas of foods and can increase your mood in the morning.
