Portuguese landscape Series: Sintra waterfalls

Imagine a national road that crosses a group of small towns, close to the Portuguese capital, Lisbon... A tangled urban road.
Now, after an intersection, park on the side of the road and walk down a dirt path...

It's a steep path, going down, with abandoned walls full of grafitti.

Suddenly the vegetation starts to rise. The last signs of urbanism give way to nature. Now everything is green and the path continues, descending, now much narrower.

Then, a few meters below the road you were driving on, you come face to face with a small stream!

And that's when you look left and see something you didn't expect: a surprising and beautiful waterfall, worthy of any exotic destination !

But we aren't in a well-known exotic region... We are in the municipality of Sintra (Portugal), a place where things like this happen frequently to those who know how to look for them!
