Gorgeous desert Medjool Dates in natural sun-dried status - grown in the mineral rich soils on the banks of the Orange River in neighbouring Namibia. They are extraordinarily sweet due to the high temperatures, fresh air and humidity from the Orange River.
I continue to be astounded at all the initiatives popping up to help Hive grow into an even more amazing platform by the many individuals and communities, and one that I'm really excited about, is the new Stock Images Community run by @minismallholding and @naturalmedicine.
Dried Dates and Sunflower Seeds, both excellent for snacking and a pretty sprig of the herb Fennel to bring some colour.
The idea is to share your own work for use by the Hive community only; and all we ask is that you credit the photographer and possibly offer a percentage beneficiary every time someone uses that image, thus supporting our own content creators.
Oranges and Lemons - these two citrus fruits are brimful of Vitamin C plus nothing beats a good Orange & Lemon Marmalade or Lemon Curd with toast.
Passion Fruit and Lemons with sprigs of Mint and Fennel. Here in South Africa, we wrongly call Passion Fruit Granadilla, but the latter is a little larger, more elongated and has a yellow-orange colour, whereas Passion Fruit is a bit smaller and more rounded with a purplish color.
The images I am sharing today were taken with my cell phone, yep no fancy camera for this gal; while preparing plant-based food for #fruitsandveggiesmonday.
