Floating School in Haor Baherbali Model High School

Here is my report on yesterday's travel story:

The first thing to remember is the moment of covid-19 corona virus in the world of terrible situation.

We went to the family store yesterday, now at the last moment of the rainy season in our country Kishoreganj district Ashtagram Mithamain Bajitpur in these areas are floating in the water around many villages in these areas at the moment I have captured some pictures and hopefully made a report on them. You will like it.

One of the most interesting things about the trip yesterday was the floating school that must have surprised us to see this floating school standing in the middle of the water and the water that the students had to come by boat in the middle of the water for about nine months.

Kishoreganj, surrounded by haors, is a well-known region of our country for many reasons. However, recently a school in this district has given birth to new discussions. The school is located in the middle of the haor. Seen from a distance, it looks like a floating shelter. When approached, one can see a beautiful educational academy. The students of that school join by boat. As there is no alternative, small children go to school by boat for education. Education is one of the main means of development in human life, no nation can prosper without education. All the developed countries of the world have almost 100% education.

So far, thinkers of almost all ages have spoken of education, mentioning its significance. Lack of education is a major obstacle to the development of underdeveloped countries. In order to become a developed nation, our country has also given importance to education many times more than before. However, this learning is not an easy subject, in which the lack of infrastructure is a big obstacle.

Comparative haor areas in the country are considered underdeveloped, one of the reasons being that the literacy rate of the people here is lower than other areas. The haor area of Kishoreganj is not out of it. Many people live in the haor area, a large part of the year the area is submerged in water, isolated from other areas. And the size of this submerged area is much larger. The three-storey model high school was set up in 2011 under the Secondary Education Development Project (SEMDP) for underprivileged students in Haoranchal of Maijchar Union in Bajitpur Upazila of Kishoreganj. Then in 2013 the educational activities started in full swing. If you look at the school from a distance, it will look like a shelter for the Banavasis during the disaster. There is plenty of water all around. In the meantime, a three-storey building stands with its head held high. As if the building is floating in the water. There is no road in this building. The only means of communication is the boat.

Although it looks like a shelter from a distance, it is a secondary school. Students are being taught here regularly. Teacher-student attendance is also higher than any other school. The name of this eye-catching school in Maijchar Union of Bajitpur Upazila is Baherbali SESDP Model High School.

Currently, the ground floor of the three-storey building is completely empty, which is submerged in the haor water for most of the year. Educational activities are conducted only on the second and third floors. As there is no other secondary school in this remote village adjacent to Haor, it has become a reliable source of education for the local students. There are 14 spacious classrooms on the second and third floors. The school is also nicely decorated. On the roof of the building, extraordinary gardens of various fruits and flowers have been built with the labor of teachers and students. Seen from above, it will look like a green ceremony.

The floating school has been closed for almost two years now due to the covid-19 coronavirus. The maintenance work is sometimes remembered. There's a lock. We can't get in because there's nobody around. What we can see from below is the green plants on the roof and the presence of green flowering trees.

Due to the closure of the school, we could not get an idea of the location of the students and teachers there because now all the schools are closed so we could not get inside and get an idea about the school because there were no people here. We just looked around. The school had no idea how many teachers there are or how many students there are, but if the situation improves, we will try to go there again next time. We will try to find out everything about this school at that time.
