Goa Japan Hill is one of the hill tourist destinations in the city of Lhokseumawe. There is a garden named "Nging Ji'oh" which means that it can see the distance.
I climbed Goa Japan Hill in the afternoon, the sunny weather certainly made the atmosphere around the Hill look beautiful.
From the city of Lhokseumawe to Bukit Goa Japan can be reached in only 10 minutes.
This Japanese Goa Hill used to be a Japanese fortress when colonizing Aceh, which was a territory of Indonesia. The fort was built to see and monitor enemy movements from a distance in the South Sea of Malacca by the Japanese. Over time, the historical site was immortalized and made one of the tourist destinations in my city.
Arriving there, your eyes will be spoiled to see the landscape view as far as the eye can see. And of course very interesting to capture.
One view that can be seen is the former oil and natural gas refinery owned by PT Arun NGL Corp, which has now become Perta Arun Gas and is owned by Pertamina (one of Indonesia's SOEs.
The appearance of the giant refinery looks very beautiful when viewed from this Japanese Cave Hill. Below are some pictures that I managed to capture;
So, looks beautiful isn't it? Yes, that's right, before becoming Perta Arun Gas, the oil and gas refinery became one of the largest oil and natural gas companies in Indonesia, which is a collaboration between Mobil oil (an American company) that exports liquefied natural gas abroad.
But now the hegemony of Petro Dollar which was once pinned as the name of my city has changed. There is no longer a sparkling red sky at night, only the remnants of Aceh's natural gas for domestic needs. Production of PT Arun NGL Corp stopped since 2002, after operating for more than 3 decades in the province of Aceh, Indonesia.
